GOTG # 1 again for 2 days in a row.
GOTG # 1 again for 2 days in a row.
GOTG is at $239 million with an expected 16 million added this weekend. By the end of next weekend it should finally dethrone TWS as highest grossing domestic movie of 2014. With an all-star summer line-up of blockbusters who'd a thought that GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY with unheard of characters and no big stars would come out on top?
This just further shows how silly WB/DC's reluctance to give B and C listers (and even some A listers like Wonder Woman) their own movies really is. You don't have to be a global icon from the get go. You just have to be in a good movie.

14 times too many
Z now.
Well get this, Box Office mojo is predicting GOTG might take 1st spot this weekend beating out Sin City, Turtles and a tween love story!
If that happens, Holy crap!
Mojo:
That would likely allow Guardians of the Galaxy to move back in to first place in its fourth weekend. The movie was off a light 30 percent to $4.8 million; for the weekend, it should wind up between $16 and $17 million. It passed Maleficent yesterday, and it will become the highest-grossing movie of the Summer (ahead of Transformers: Age of Extinction) sometime today.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For bombed with $2.6 million. That's off a stunning 78 percent from the first movie, and that's with nine years of ticket price inflation and the addition of 3D premiums. It's also less than half of The Expendables 3's poor start from last weekend. The Sin City sequel could theoretically wind up below $6 million for the weekend, though it's more likely that it earns between $6 and $7 million.
I just want to see Sin City to watch Eva Green naked, which I hear is the entire run time.
I didn't think anything in this movie was tear worthy aside from the opening.
