:rotfl See people don't believe me, that's why it's pointless for me to say more. I can assure you all that there's something very big I wanted to say about my how I'm getting so much money for all my collectibles. Then again it will cause too much heat so that's why I'm leaving it alone. You all would be shock at some of the things I was going to say and would not beileve it anyways. believe me I do have 200k of toys in my house since 2006 now is even more.
As for money I don't like to throw it out because of a company asking for more just because they can. I just dont feel good about it. It feels like I'm getting had.
I think I will pass on this for now. Must think hard at PO day. Sure I love this one but I hate how the prices keep getting added on just because it can be.

Hey CBG how about a picture of your 200K collection?:wave

The problem is, as these figures near $400 people are going to become ever more insanely picky about every last single detail - and rightfully so, because that is a lot of money for a hunk of resin. Which is not exactly Carrerra marble to begin with, but its priced like it is.

So yeah, tee-hee-hee lets up the price just because we can. For every ten dollars more there are going to be ten thousand more complaints. Its almost like buyer's revenge or something. Heh.

The price increases probably isn't going to stop with Harley. So you might wanna start looking for a new hobby bro. I know I'm going to be getting out of the PF collecting hobby when they all reach around the $400-$500 range for a regular sized PF.

Oh and I don't need to know how you make your money. But, some pics of your quarter of a million dollar collection would be awesome! <~~ Not sarcasm. :wave

True I agree, once all PF are 400.00 plus each. I'm going to have to think about this hobby. It's ok if it's a few of them. But I'm collecting too many of them right now. The other problem I have is I tend to switch hobbies / collecting diffrent lines because i get bored so much. I normally collect 2 years and switch out to something new. It's only been a year of collecting SS for me and with all the price hikes, taxes for these things will not be helping, shipping hikes, and SS not giving replacements and refunds for damage statues is puttingna sour taste in this new way of collecting statues.
True as spidey said he knows I like Harley a lot. It's going to be a tough choice to buy or not. Who knows if they give us a reason like punisher with the low ES I know I would change my mind. :rotfl right now I'm going to wait to see the ES first before deciding for sure. So looks like no order for me on PO day. :(

I'm more interested in how he pays for it, now that he's made suggested that it would cause a scene.

It's really no big deal. Very cool actually. Hey maybe when the east coast have a freaks meet up I will say it there. If the meet is close in md I will even bring my supercar. I will have it soon, hopefully by summers end or this winter. If the maryland collectors meet up they can be the people who bring the info back. :wave I really would love to go to a freaks statue meet up on the east coast near md someday! Or maybe even nycc! I never been to a real convention yet. Would love to see some statues at a convention while meeting some members! I know peedi is here in md. We all must meet up someday :) I wonder if SS attends nycc with previews like Harley ex? I know in sdcc they do but nycc?

maybe he's a secret agent or something?:lol

Just got done speaking with the vice president. I have my suspicions that CBG is actually Obama and he's been selling US military secrets just to fund his figurine addiction.

As for the pricing of these pieces these days, I think that in the end how much you pay really does show dedication toward the piece. For example, I recently got in my 1/4 Ganondorf from First 4 Figures. He cost about $500 and yet there hasn't been even a small trace of regret in me at all. It's the most I've ever spent for a piece and even a lot of my favorite figures I have somewhat regretted purchasing them. With this piece though he's a true work of art. Massive, detailed, beautifully painted, etc.. He has such presence on the shelf.

And in a lot of ways Ganondorf has me reevaluating what it really means to spend this much on statues. Characters like Superman and Harley Quinn are not something I care deeply about at all so why have I agreed to spend so much on them? Part of the issue with this whole 1/4 scale statue thing is that by nature of the product each piece is going to be very expensive, meaning they cannot produce as many and you have to be selective.

I mean think about it. If this was a line of 1/12 scale figures we could just buy every single release no big deal at all. Throw down thirty to forty bucks each and they come out once a month or once every few months it's no big deal and easy to justify buying even the weaker characters. With this though? Nearly half a grand on some C lister that I have no real historical connection with. It's a bit eye opening.

I think even if a piece looks amazing, when you finally get it if you don't have that connection to the character already you definitely miss out on a sort of intrinsic value that really makes the piece shine. I think that's what happens a lot when people go "Oh don't mind the pics they really can't capture how awesome this thing looks in person" and such. Maybe I'm just rambling I don't know.

All in all I just hope I remember this on Thursday. At the very least I think I'll hold off on preordering. I don't like the EX anyway. Maybe over the next year I might find a deeper enjoyment of Harley Quinn, but until then this isn't worth the money for me.

Big fan of Harley Quinn and really like the look of this PF but just the regular. Don't care for the EX sculpt. Might use reward points on it

:goodpost: wow very well said. SS has made it not as fun to collect anymore. Once one thing is done another issue pops up. I'm really trying to be nice to SS. But it's getting really hard these days. Even the 10.00 can be whatever. But then dealing with broken parts is such a big process with only 10% of getting a replacement on new items is even worst then the 10.00 price hike. I hope they get some new management in the future to at least try to improve the cs.

How is this a $10 price hike? Last I checked Sideshow hasn't done a Harley PF before. Each statue is different and is priced accordingly.

Has anyone seen a single picture of this collection? Sorry CBG but I don't believe you. I think this is a web of lies and deceit.

Well with the pics he HAD up in the Skaar thread I counted OVER 40 PFs... All the XWomenans a few guys, the Sucker Punch girls, almost all the StarWars PFs, Skaar, Captain Hook, Jessica Rabbit, Jack Sparrow, and I am missing a WHOLE LOT!!!!

there were a couple in the skaar PF thread

He took the pics down shortly after "Dustgate" ended ...:wink1:

HTFU!!! WTH is my Ganondorf?!? :gah: I got charged, but no shipping notice, nothing...Emailing F4F...

It's not about this one particular statue, it's the pricing in general. The general price of PFs has gone up again. The base price for non large characters was $349.99. It now appears to be $359.99.

No, SS hasn't done a Harley before (which is irrelevant anyway), but the pricing on a PF of this general sizing has increased by $10 since a few months ago. If this were 8 months to a year ago she would have been $349.99.

But I agree with Monger, this much money on characters who don't mean much personally is "a lot". "A lot" is relative, and isn't just the face value of the dollar amount. $400 for Batman and $500 for Ganondorf is one thing, because I like them a lot, but for other random DC characters that don't mean as much, $400 is too much. I'm pretty committed to the major characters of Batman, Spidey, X-Men and Avengers, but as the standard PF cost quickly rises to $400, I'll no longer even pay attention to minor or less meaningful characters.

And to that end, I made a list of characters to stick to. No random POs just because it looks good. I'm only getting the characters I enjoy.
