With that kind of "resume" (Ali G indahouse, Last action hero, Golden Child and Alien squared), surprised he got the role of Tywin

He's a classically trained theater actor. He did that for years before he ever got into movies. Having the Royal Shakespeare Company listed on your acting resume must help with getting a job for a show like GoT. :lol

I remember that. He turns into that crazy stop motion demon at the end.

Yeah. Looks like crap now but back then it was sick. :lol

Ha ha, wonder what got him the role in Ali G? :lol

Just glad I saw him in GOT before I might have ever seen that Ali G movie. Of the movies I mentoned, I saw Aien 3 and Golden Child, but dont remember him at all.

The person responsible should still be a surprise, but best not to grow too attached to anyone.

But I am sure you know that by now.

I think reverse psychology might be the best defence we have for the lives of our favorite characters. Thusly - I ****ing hate Tyrion! Please kill him ASAP.

I have a feeling that some good roles will be coming his way soon enough...:lecture

I want him cast in a role in the new Star Wars movies coming up. He reminds me of an Imperial Officer for some reason, I can just see him in the outfit. Plus, hes a great villain, so I want to see him be a space bad guy. :lecture

That specific form of reverse Psychology may work quite well.

Just so you dont feel too bad, My Wife spoiled the Red Wedding for me 2 years before the show and before I had even finished the first book. She had it ruined for her nosing around the Wiki, stay away from the Wiki.

They catch up and run out of story at the end of season five, and in the season six opener, Old Nan is found miraculously alive after the sack of Winterfell, and immediately launches into relating the Tales of Dunk and Egg for an entire season :lol

Sad thing is, they may have to resort to flashback and tales like that if GRRM isn't done with the last book, or especially if he is close to finishing. I mean, how would sales of a book be if a TV show tells you the whole book beforehand? :lol

I just hope they don't try to get 2 seasons each out of the last two books, meaning 4 seasons. Those two books are already one book split in two. How would they split it up into quarters? :panic:

HBO knows how the story ends, and they are going to finish what they started. GRRM signed over the rights allowing them to do so, and then gave them the information needed. The books have been out for over a decade, but it was the show that has made people Google "Red Wedding." There is a huge audience out there that will demand an ending, and HBO has what they need to provide it with or without the publication of the final books. If he doesn't like it, he can write faster.

yes, if you want to remain surprised for sure, I for one cant stay away from it and now know what is going to happen with some of the characters, still wont stop me from watching though....knew about the RW, but still it floored me how they were able to pull it off...:lecture

Just watched the finale, loved it. Very calm and modest episode, but great nontheless. Some are allready whining that it was luckluster for a finale (another sign that this series has spoiled some people, and unless someone hits the bucket, its "boring" by their standards), but I am glad the showrunners didn't decide to forcefully cram in new "feature characters", just for the sake of finale cliffhanger (introducing Lady Stoneheart or Coldhands at this point would be too rushed and crude. And this way we get more sweet stuff for the next year). Besides, this was more of an introduction into season 3.5. But even though the episode was Modest for a finale, it was full of great scenes and dialogue. Plus the whole thing had a slightly sentimental "calm before the storm" feeling to it, which works great as a primer for the next season.

Some of the episode's highlights for me:

-The Small Council meeting. You can't go wrong with Tyrion on Tyvin on Cerseri on Varys on Pycelle on Joeffrey dialogue. ;)

-The Arya and Hound moment. The girl finally had someone to kill and she did it with style. I really like the unceremonious, unpretentious way they showed her do it. No ominous, dramatic brooding over the fact that a girl killed her first man. No. Instead just fast, angry knife stabs to the back and the neck, and then a shot of Hound unceremoniously eating the food of the men he and Arya just butchered. You go girl! :)

- The scene between Tyrion and Cersei.

- Theon's sister and her scene on the boat with a band of hardcore, viking raider mofos. It was a pity we didn't get to see more Greyjoys this season.

- Davos.

- Bolton and Walder Frey moment. A very nice dialogue. The guy playing Bolton is fantastic. He is creepy but not in any obvious, "villainy" way. He has a honeyed voice and a friendly face, but his eyes really say "I am gonna rape Your corpse"

- The scene between John and Ygritte. I didn't really care for the storyline of those two, mianly becouse I don't like the guy playing Snow, and I think his character is a far cry from the one in the novels. But this scene really got to me. There was just something powerfull in that moment when he states their love in that matter-of-factly way, and then she is trying to murder him with tears in her eyes. Plus the music and the scenery. I loved it. I guess I am just a hopeless romantic...

- The Sansa/Tyrion scene. It wasn't anything special, but it showed that future interactions between those two have the potential to be cute and interesting.

- Davos

Btw. It was good to see the inside of Castle Black and Maester Aemon again.

Things I didnt like:

Scenes between Sam and Gilly and Bran's troupe. They rushed Bran's journey so much, that the dialogue felt a bit awkward and forced.

Stannis. Stephen Dillane is great, but the showrunnes keep favouring the ******* side of Stannis character, which makes the TV version a far cry from the one in the novels (who was one of my favourite characters). In episode 08 they showed a bit of true Stannis, but in the finale, they reverted him back to being almost a villain. Not sure I like it, though there is still time to make him interesting again. I am curious how showrunnes will handle him.

The ending. Or rather the ending of the ending. The whole mysha thing had a proper pomposity and was suitably uplifting, but when it came to literall uplifting or rather crowd surfing, I felt it was a bit too much.

Overal another great season of a great show, based on an even greater novel series. Best episodes 4,5,8,9,10

I didn't hear this. Do you have a link?

Regarding the show catching up to the books, someone posted an interesting link a few pages ago to an interview with the producers, writers and author, but no-one could obviously be bothered to click on it.

They basically said ideally the books will come out first. No-one wants to go past the books or have a break. He's surely mostly done the next book, so that now gives him, I'd say, 4 or 5 years to get the last one published.

Never have seen this series...sounds very good.

Should I pick up Season 1?

Are there lots of naked girls in it???:lol

I watched episode 9 of series 1 last night when they originally go to the Twins - my god the amount of fore-shadowing!! Cat saying that Walder Frey would never hurt her and Theon saying he (Frey) would quite happily cut your throat.
