Taking all my willpower NOT to click on your spoilers, as it has taken all my willpower NOT to read the book until this season is over....

Of course, my willpower will be SORELY tested not to read any of the other three books while awaiting Season 2.

Anybody know when Season 2 is slated to start filming? Unlike other series on cable, HBO is known for not having definitive schedules for follow up seasons, correct? For example, Showtime series such as Dexter, Weeds, etc. have their new seasons the same time each year (i.e. Dexter in the fall, Weeds in the summer, etc.), but HBO series can have long gaps between seasons, right?

Yes, but I suspect they'll be in a bit of a hurry on this one, since the sets and actors are all commited to a second season already. It may also depend on how well it leads into the True Blood season, and if that does well, they may want to repeat that process next winter with GoT leading into TB again.

Fantastic episode, which I finally got to watch. SCREW Time Warner and their damned attempt at screwing over TIVO! They don't support cable cards for TIVO and now they have "tuning adapters" you have to have with a Tivo because they scramble most channels. But they scramble them so well that the tuning adapter can't adapt, so anything on HBO or Showtime has audio dropouts every 30 secs for about 15 secs. It was so bad this week I had to record a non-HD version of the episode to watch it! PO'd I am!

I just started reading the book and they are really well written - better than most of this type of novel. I have to say that I'm pleased that they cast a bit older for the show though - a 14 year old John Snow and Robb Stark and a 13 year old Sansa and Daenerys would be really off-putting.

Just started watching this series last night with my wife. Cool to finally see something worth watching on TV. It's like ROME mixed with LOTR mixed with Conan. Good stuff.

I just started catching up on it this week and went through the whole series so far in two nights. Its got the two B's Station requires for excellent TV viewing, boobs and be-headings.

I'll put spoilers around this, but if you watched the episode there isn't anything here to worry about:

I wish they hadn't done it at the very end of the episode, because it over emphasizes it - but I have to say, they did it extremely well.

Some things in this episode were great too, additions that weren't in the book, like the way Tyrion explained his marriage to Bronn and Shae. I'm not quite sold on Shae yet, but I'm not disliking her either. We'll see how it plays out. I also liked that Ned sent Yoren to get Arrya, and he got to see her at the end. I also loved the way Joffrey acted, and how everyone was pissed at him for what happened.

I was bummed though that we didn't get to see Tyrion's fight, only that he's injured after. In fact, they way they shot it, you could imply he didn't get to fight at all after getting hit on the rush to battle. I would have liked to have seen them show his rougher side a bit more, as I think it means quite a bit to how he'll be acting in the future.
