I may be paranoid but I'm not going on HOME any time soon. Seems that HOME has no security to protect their servers and they've already been hacked. The security is so bad that server files can be replaced and deleted. This means that the files you are downloading including trailer vids and such could damage your PS3.

Here's the story:

well guys let me tell you that after getting a taste of the real version of this home thing I am really dissapointed.

ok is free but if you want to have cool stuff like house, clothing, tv etc.. you got to buy it.

THATS SO BULL ^^^^!!!!
I will never pay to play games online.
what a waste of HD space.
ohh well!!

Not true, it uses virtual money.

I was happy to see that the stuff that I had already acquired in the closed Beta carried over to the open Beta...so I didn't need to purchase anything like the Summer House or furniture because I already got it for free. If it didn't carry over, I probably wouldn't have bought it back because if I'm going to spend money on something, I want it to be something I'm going to get use out of like maybe a pool table for playing with friends or maybe a arcade machine like Icebreaker...that game was pretty fun. So far, things are pretty much like they were in the closed Beta. I don't see myself spending hours everyday on Home, but I could see maybe popping in once a week to play some pool or bowl with some buds when we get bored of CoD WaW, Resistance 2, or Socom.

I do want to say that one thing that bugs the hell out of me about Home are all the jackasses that flock to any female avatar they see. One of my good friends in my gaming clan is a female and we had a pretty large group of us on Home last night. It seemed that no matter where we went, there were always guys standing around her...so much that she didn't even want to talk on the mic because the second she did they would start asking her all kinds of questions. This of course didn't stop them from typing in stupid stuff though. These kids really need to get a life...

Well, I spent some time provoking random gang rapes. That was fun. I didn't have too much time, so I just raped people.

Is there anything to do other than rape avatars?

Nope thats about it... Did you get an achievemen... err trophy for that?

Can anyone else outside of the U.S. log on, mine just keeps saying it's lost connection over and over. Can get at the store and everything else.

I usually get this error when I try to sign in, but it normally signs in after trying a few times.

That's because most of Nerds on there have never even kissed a girl. I guess they get all excited when they see a girl on home and feel a lot braver to harass her when holding there Joystick

You're right, took me about 6 attempts but finally managed to make it in.

Really limited options though, the hair on the male side just doesn't go long enough for me :lol

for me I couldnt find a good hair either. I was able to find the hair i wanted on the 360 avatars, so i was hoping for the long slicked back hair on this one but no.

It did seem weird that you could choose a multitude of Skin tones, but you couldn't change the colour of your clothes at all. There was no black clothing at all, except for that vest.

Artical I just read.

Eat your heart out, New Xbox Experience. Tomorrow, all Playstation 3 owners will get a chance to experience Sony's own answer to online socializing and game playing: a virtual world called Home.

There's no charge for the new feature, which will come in the form of a multi-gigabyte download that'll update the firmware of PS3s around the world. Once applied, the first step for new Home residents is to design an avatar, a process that's already necessary on the Xbox 360 and Wii, but one that will be new to many PS3-only gamers. Sony's avatar system, though, allows for considerably more realism and detail than either of its competitors.

Once you're in Home's world, you can chat with friends, set up multiplayer gaming sessions, listen to streaming music, watch movies, and play minigames. It'll be a familiar layout to anyone who's played with other virtual worlds like World of Warcraft, Runescape, or even Second Life, the anything-goes social world that Home most resembles. Sony has already lined up an impressive range of partners -- including Red Bull, Diesel, and Paramount Pictures -- who'll be offering sponsored content inside Home.

On the official PlayStation blog, Home director Jack Buser gives some useful advice from getting the most out of your new online life.

"We have a tutorial built in that will get you started with the controls, as well as help menus for you to reference in the Menu Pad. If you don't have a USB keyboard or Bluetooth headset paired with your PlayStation 3, now is the time to do so -- either option will allow you to easily talk and meet everyone," he said in a post today.

Officially, Sony's calling the much-delayed launch an "open beta," which means they're pretty sure it works, but if you break it, don't bother suing
