You guys need to get off your high horses. Realize that most of us will do about anything to fund this very expensive hobby. Most people are not "making money" per say, but using any revenue generated from flipping this Pred towards the purchase of new or more beloved figures.

That's sounds fine to me. No argument here on the money front.
It the ones that buy multiples like 4 and above with the sole intention of merely selling on at crazy marked up prices. With no gain other than money! Them I'd like to hit very hard in the head!!

I think folks like that are morally void and all round ****s!

I'd donate a testicle to research for a P2 Elder but like you, I ain't paying crazy money for it.
I was toying with flipping the Guardian on for an Elder but I like this one too much and I am more likely to get an Elder than I am this one.

That's what I used my extra one for, I never intended on selling it, just wanted to use it to get something else I wanted, in this case the P2 Elder. So it worked out good for me.

Yeah, that may end up being the case that Elder is still harder to get than Guardian. It will be interesting to see how it all goes.
Still not going to trade this one regardless though as I think he's that cool!!

It's not a fair comparison, Guardian is new, Elder has been out for years. There was way more Elder's made. In a few years Guardian will be harder to get due to the low numbers alone.

are you sure though? are there any hard #s on the edition sizes of each figure? i think i saw somewhere on here that there were at least 1700 Guardians made. i have no idea how many Elders there are, but i know they don't turn up very often unlike most of the older preds.

I have this figure proudly displayed with the rest of my Hot Toys collection. It even pushed me to finally get a Lost Predator from Hastings as well.

I did the same thing. Picked up the Lost Predator for $94 at gohastings with the 20% code they had for 2 days. Looks like they're all gone now.

Elder Pred 2 lingered in retail for a long time. Don't know the number for Elder but I figure it's somewhere around 1000. In 2007, there were less people in this hobby and less people informed about Hot Toys. What I've found is that when you see very little of an item up for sale it's probably because most pieces went to diehard collectors that don't sell.

heh, yeah that makes sense. i'm too attached to my Silentsurfer-improved Elder to sell it too. doesn't look like very many are that attached to their Guardians though.

Yeah, well that's what I mean. I got Elder2 for $115 at retail. No one was buying that guy to scalp. Guardian had scalper orgasm written all over it.

I always cringe at those types of FT threads because really in the end you are trading up for something might be a grail which IMO is bull and it's same thing as selling it for more $$$.

Just out and freaking be a man and say it you don't wanna sell it because you are scared of someone labeling you a scalper therefore you rather trade it for someone else's grail.

I don't have a problem with them doing that act just be upfront about it and don't state you are NOT selling it because you don't want to scalp a fellow freak that is just TOTAL BULL____!

i think guardians "exclusive"ness is debatable on many levels. It's flooding all over ebay and Eric from toy2 was able to get 20 of these guys easily he also sold me one for 220 + tax cdn.
