Guardian has a great paint job, but after my BD P2 and Lost, I'm really getting tired of P2
the alternative is rodrigators which is far away from predators and close to orcs and goblins, so i'll better stick to winston's predators.
BTW doesn't anybody want to sell P1 bodies? :)
i have to remake my Gort when he arrives.

WTF did all of you expect this figure to be?? :lol

I went for it because I wanted it for what it was. limited or not..500 or 5000 it would have been bought.
For those saying it's not worth $200 feel free to PM me and I'll take this POS off your hands..:wave

I had my waitlist converted and i promised a fellow freak that if it converts that i would let him have it at cost. I received it and now he is on his way the said freak. It is a great figure but i have sold off most of my Hot Toys and will end up keeping the main preds from the movies(P1,P2,Scar and Wolf).
I will end up getting Berserker but then that will be it.
I am happy that i could help out a fellow freak with getting one of these without him paying Ebay prices.

We'll see if they give you the profit they get from it when they sell it...:lol

i'm not saying this because a managed to get a guardian predator through sideshow but the whole masshysteria about this exclusive predator and the hunt to get one is just what makes this hobby interesting and challenging

That's one way of looking at it!

It's like any sort of gambling or bidding really, you need to be quite disciplined about what you are willing to pay... personally I've wanted a good 1/6 of this character practically since the movie came out and was willing to pay Ebay rates, thankfully the waitlist came through!

I am still VERY suspicious about the numbers though... the 43 on Ebay doesn't include the several Guardians on Yahoo! Japan auctions. IMO either Hot Toys decided to ramp up the numbers at the last minute - perhaps seeing the demand was there - or someone was telling porkie pies about the edition size to begin with.

It is really limited, which is why it had became very flipable. Hence the high number of being sold on ebay.
You can check the madness on Hottoys Facebook page when 10,000 people refused to leave the Hot Toys booth at Ani Com forcing them to sell the whole thing on day 2, leaving none for the rest of the fair and everybody who didn't get one got furious and started calling names and wrecking the 1:1 Warmachine display. It is really that desireable in Asia.

A lot of people who were on wait list got converted and it's reflected on ebay. The prices dropped dramatically.

I saw this translation of a post by Hot Toys on their Facebook page. I can't wait to hear more about this. :impatient:

Hong Kong Toys limited edition animation festival venue special arrangements, as the next day (31 July) than the number of estimates and emerging queue queue a large number of the party, led to the situation was ...chaotic and exhibits have been destruction, HOT TOYS has to stop selling the day Limited Edition and to consider new arrangements, helpless person inside do not want to disperse the indirect effects of off-site attendance over 10,000 submissions, the final recommendation by the General Assembly and the police, HOT TOYS limited only the sale of all products as soon as possible to help maintain public order .

The company's admission to this event for the customer to bring deeply regret the unpleasant experience, to take notice to extend my sincere regret, Hot Toys will make proper arrangements for the future, acknowledge the support of fans and figure enthusiasts.

Hey, my WL converted and I got mine without having to spend half my life savings for it. That's all I cared about.

That's just a rumour though ain't it?

Translation:

This long gold hair is the retailer. He arranged 80 little boys to jump the line for the limited edition. These boys do not have money in their pocket and they will ask for money from him when they reached the HT counter. He did not give... money to the boys in advance since he is afraid that the boys will flee if they got the money.

The poor fans who started to line up in the midnight outside the site cannot purchase the limited edition ultimately.......

Translation:

You can see Howard and the organizers are discussing how to solve the problem of too many people gathering in front of the HT booth. Howard is so pathetic that he finally decided to make a fake sold-out announcement to scatter the people and then sold the stock again after the people leave.

Ani Com Security management forced Hot Toys to sell everything they have on day 2 to avoid riot due to thousands of people refusing to leave Hot Toys booth.

The fake "Sold Out" banner. Booth had to be guarded by security officers and police.

Angry and disappointed fans that have camped outside Ani Com building from 2 am in the morning and did not get Guardian Predator:

There were. There were about 170 thousands visitors on day one as reported but HT booth could only accommodate not even 10% of that and things got out of hands.

170 thousands visitors, yes but that talks about the whole day of event (almost 12 hrs) and not everyone is keen to get figure from HT. Not even in 1%. There were people taking picture at the booth but not queuing up for fig.

That is what I said. 1 day. But there were more than 10 thousand hanging around HT booth, not sure how many were qeueing for the exclusives, but I'm betting the majority would like to get their hands on them, and most of them failed, thus created chaos. Otherwise there wouldn't be a mess that includes police and security guards.

Sadly, I have to agree with this. Guardian has a great paint job, but after my BD P2 and Lost, I'm really getting tired of P2. No more from that line. I was happy I got Guardian and he looks pretty cool, but I don't really feel that much from him. When you get him, the hype dies down and you realize there's not much to see. What's more, he's not worth $200 at all. I won't be buying any more P2 Predators, since I'm kind of in need of a break. I'm keeping Guardian, don't get me wrong, but I've just about had enough. I honestly don't care if they release any of the other Lost Hunters. My trio is fine with me.

Heh, getting two more AVP Preds and having a trio of those couldn't hurt. And yes, Celtic is my ultimate grail. None of the other figures I own hold a candle to how much I love that one. Took a lot of trying and saving to get to it, and he's never getting sold or traded. Hopefully, maybe next year (or sooner, depending on sales and prices) I can get him a friend.

It would never be so for me, all to do with which Predators you grew up with....what a strange sentence. But for me it was the P1 and all the predators from P2. They're the sacred ones and everything else is a pretender. The AvP figures hold no interest for me, the AvP:R figures that I do have are the weak links in my collection, and so far I have no enthusiasm for the 'Predators' guys...then again I still haven't seen it.

I gotta say, i dont understand these people saying they got caught up in the hype and thought they wanted it, then when they got it they were disappointed. I mean, each to their own i guess and everybody's different. But when i first saw this (or even heard Hot Toys were doing it) i just thought "awesome, finally. I've gotta get this" just because i love the design and would love all the Lost hunters. But when i saw the T-100 Sarach Connor, also limited and an exclusive, i just thought "that looks really cool, although its not a line im interested in." I had no desire to buy it just because it was an exclusive. Not really sure where im going with this so hopefully someone can understand what im getting at. :lol
Just seems like a shame lots of people bought it because its exclusive and a lot of people who wanted it because its Gort missed out.
