Not sure if anyone one has addressed this topic, but im attempting to do a MKVI chest plate to MKIV body mod.(yeah im cheap! didnt want to buy another full figure)

anyhow, so i finally got the MKVI chest plate in the mail and placed it on the MKVI body. Figured that in order to make it work I needed to clip some of the raised/beveled edges on the side, sand down the raised area near the V-neck area and move the pegs down a little.

To do this I clipped the pegs, placed in the holes on the body and applied a bit of glue where the pegs were exposed. Alligned the chest plate to the body and flipped it over so that the pegs reconnected with the chest plate in the right location. Worked like a charm.

The MKVI chest piece now sit perfectly on the MKIV body. Now the problem is fill in in the gap between the bottom chest plate and where its suppose to meet with outer surface of the armor. (I can post pics later today if anyone needs to see what it looks like.)

The intial plan was to use sculped to fill in the area, remove bake sand and recast in rest. The glue it to the chest plate to make it one seamless form.

Unfortunately, sculpey is so maleable and removing it is nearly impossible without loosing the shape. So back to square 1 on this portion of the project.

Just curious if anyone is working on the same project and has come up with a solution to fill in the gap.

got my arrival notice. april 1 st ib billing day. cancelled my regular version, I am not gonna be able to get 2, I tried saving up but I just found out I owe Uncle Sam a good amount of cash.

Use (2 part) epoxy putty... most will give you a long work time before it hardens

Will the epoxy putty leave any type of residue on the red paint and will it be difficult to remove from crevaces found under the armor? When i attempted this with sculpy it left some residue in the crack and crevaces which was a pain to clean up?

i think you have it a bit too high man...could just be the angle of the pics but there should be a gap at the top of the chest plat and the shoulders

Since I didnt own the MKVI and only had a MKIV, i had to look at photos for reffrence which didnt show the gap near the shoulders.

The other thing about putting it flush against the shoulder was to help brace it. Realigning the pegs requires you to clip it, place it in the holes with a dab of glue. placing the chest over it and filipping it upside down till the pegs slide and rest on the chest plate. If you dont brace it against the shoulders the alignment might be off.

Oh well. either way its a ghetto way of letting a person have both figures without having to spend on a nother full figure.

I just need to work on the gap issue. Ive had some good recommendation, just got to work on it and see what comes out best.

Ok, best of luck in working on that one.
