I asked this question a while back, think it got lost at the bottom of the page. Has anyone tried to remove the "weathering" on the clean thigh plates? Mine seem to be a little darker than the norm and would prefer a cleaner look. Any suggestions would be great.

just get an extra set of thigh plates if yours are too dark. Anything you try to do will damage the gold paint/finish

I think I may even have some extra thigh armor

Don't know if this has been answered, but I emailed SS about the missing rubber boot at the shoulder and they replied by saying that it's only suppose to have one for both. Has this been the response from SS?

Great figure, though I there were more than a few issues with him outta the box. After getting replacement parts, the only noticeable flaw is a sloppy paint app on one of his torso plates. Looks great in the case with all the other figs. Gonna need a new shelf soon. I'm using an extra MkIII BD base because I haven't found a pose I like on the new one yet.

I think they misunderstood you and thought you were talking about the left forearm plates.

Don't know. Sounds like they understood to me.
"Additionally, after examining a few of the stock pieces, we have found that there is only supposed to be one rubber spacer washer that is shared between the damaged and undamaged arms. We are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause you":dunno

Very nice display/poses, rory.

Totally unrelated to this figure but I thought I'd just say I've had 4 of these batteries go bang on me. The tops of the batteries have blown. 3 bigs ones and 1 little. One went off more or less each day. I went into the room unplugging everything thinking surgemasters had went/power supplies blown yet at the same time I couldn't smell any burning odour in the room. Took me days to find where it was coming from until one blew while I was in the room where I could track down the noise. It hadn't happened for days until last night. Once again I couldn't find anything until I started checking all the batteries in the room.

Luckily a few weeks ago I took all the batteries out of the figures since I barely switch them on as well as some of the reports of the Mark IV leaking some of the batteries...

The Battle Damage Mark III had crusty edges on one of the chest batteries. Thats when I started taking all the batteries out just in case but damn! What a noise these batteries make when they blow. When one went off last night I could hear it through two doors. It sounds like kids gun caps. What a crack these little coin batteries produce.

holy damn did it blow while it was out of the figure or while it was still inside? if its the later, did it make any damages to Tony Stark?

I have mine taken out but i've since kept them stored in a sealed plastic bag but inside the box, hope they won't go off while i'm away...thats dangerous!
