Yup. It's being misused in that case, but it's also fallen into fairly common usage, at least in the US.
Back on the subject of these figures. I like the MK VI more but I really like it in the way it compliments and contrasts with the IV. The reason I love these Iron Man figures so much is that they're such good design work. They're not just designed to look pretty. Each design is done with story and character in mind as well.
As I have harped on plenty, you can see the crudeness of the War Machine design and it's basis in the MK II armor just from looking at it. Both those design choices are based on story, not just looking good. They could have easily just gone with a totally new design.
Likewise I really like that the IV's color scheme evokes the III in it's placement of the gold and red despite the actual design being both far more angular and much more organic in it's forms. The VI, through use of the new chest plate and a new color scheme shows how different the armor is from the III.
