Thank you! That's what I figured it was for but I wasn't sure what was going on, mechanically.

And yeah, those are some impressive shots! I've never even held a real bow. I have a cousin who used to bow-hunt deer with a compound bow but I was waaay too young to mess with it.

I just assumed he was ambidextrous....? Never read the Avengers comics (I was all X-Men back in the early/mid 90s) so this movie version of Hawkeye is all I have to go on, and I dig the character a lot! I hope Renner returns for the sequels. His character and Black Widow (and Agent Coulson) humanized the superhumans.

Well stated. :wink1:

It's a lot of fun.

Hmm, I've suddenly become very interested in U.K. Women's Archery.

Women's archery in general is interesting to watch.
Here's a great match between Linda Ochoa and Christie Colin:

I guess it's because I'm having lots of carpal tunnel problems lately (had surgery on both hands in June and July but the pain is coming back) but when I watch these folks or even just look at my Hawkeye figure the first thing I think is "OW! That's gonna hurt!!!!"

But their skills are amazing.

It's easy to look at the target and wonder why they don't get closer.
If you realise the entire target is only 30cm across and they are shooting at it from twenty yards away, you truly understand it's like hitting the eye of a human head at maybe 6 car lengths away.
There's nothing like putting an arrow in the centre of the spot.

Can't talk about a arrow, but I know about a 50cal a mile away.

I shoot right and left only hand guns. Rifle right hand only. I cut my left hand finger last month. Now I pull so bad I can't shoot left handed now.

Username would know this. Can a bow person shoot left and right hand? I know it's only a movie but still.

You could be ambidextrous i suppose. But it's mainly down to whether you are right or left eyed. I am right handed and right eyed. So i draw the bow with my right hand and sight through the peep sight to the scope with my right eye.
If i were left eyed, it would probably be easier for me to shoot lefty.
Half the time Renner seems to be looking with his right eye to sight.
It's a conundrum.
Technically speaking you *could* shoot both ways.
But i don't know if you would hit the target...

Thanks! I'll share some more later today but these were two of my favorites. Yep, it's pretty tough getting his hand to stay up next to his face. You can get it there, but when you let go it flexes back away from the face.

I also slit his top two fingers apart with a razor blade so I could actually put the arrow between his fingers. Really difficult getting one to stay in place otherwise and I plan on posing him like this when I display him.
