Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

Who cares?..... Its a Black Widow thread and Wolvy is not even an Avenger..

Wolverine has actually been a member of an Avenger team in the comics.

Regardless, I'm most excited about Black Widow. I have a feeling they'll knock this one out of the park.

Umm..."rooted hair" and "real hair" are the same thing.

I think you mean "sculpted" hair.

And they are all dolls, no matter what you manly men say. :nana:

Maybe it's just me but I always thought if it had a body underneath with real fabric on top like Cap or Hawkeye, it was considered a doll? Iron Man on the other hand would be considered an action figure?

I've had this debate recently so just curious as to what people think of that. :lol

Or we could all just deny that they were dolls and call them 1:6 scale poseable collectibles :monkey:

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

Action figure is just a marketing term made up to sell dolls to little boys.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

So, uh, I guess this isn't the Marvel Action Figure section then? Boy I feel awkward now. Where's the doll section? :panic:

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

So the point is "articulation = doll"

I seeeeeeeeeeee...

GI Joe was the first toy that was termed action figure. They used that term because it was technically a doll for boys, and they thought boys would feel more comfortable with a military doll if it was called an action figure. Apparently they were right.

I'm not sayin that the word "DOLL" is bad. Doll is complex term and not just something girlish.
Tho if it is in US den I agree with the "action figure" term intro. They don't oppose each other so everything is okay :lol

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

I have no problem with the use of the term doll or action figure personally. They're interchangeable as far as I'm concerned and I don't really hang any kind of gender-based label on the term doll action figure anyhow. I say call them whatever you want.

I can tell you who cares. anyone who reads comics.

Black widow Calls wolverine "little Uncle"
He more or less raised her till about age 9, AND he's the one who trained her to be a spy, to fight, and how to kill people.

So, I'll say it again. We need a new wolverine to go with Black Widow.

That was over 48 years ago and people are still arguing the point. :slap

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

I don't think HT is ballsy enough to charge that for a female figure yet. We'll see though. I hope not. :lol

Are you saying female figures aren't paid as much as male figures when performing the same work :lol

The biggest problem I had with the original was the real hair, I hate real hair and the idea of having to sytle it with product it's just strange, like combing a My Little Pony's mane or something. Also the hairline on the original was so high she had a forehead like a coffee table, looking forward to seeing the sculpted hair on this new one.

:rotfl

I can't wait for the full reveal. She's going to be an instant order. I am really looking forward to this.

:hi5:

How dare you call my Blade a doll :rotfl

I'll second that.........

I'll 3rd that request for Wolverine. :yess:

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

:monkey3I don't think female dollies necessarily perform the same work for some people..

Google menwithdolls forums.

I had the misfortune of stumbling upon that niche area of this niche hobby when researching on kit bashing a trinity from matrix.
