Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

Anyway, back on topic...I hope that Hot Toys posts the full reveal this week.

I hope we get a Prometheus teaser to add to the list of reveals we're waiting for.:D

I'm sure in the past Hot Toys have shown full specs for more than one figure in a week?

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

Erm, The Avengers did a wee bit better at the box office than Watchmen.

Don't think there's any worries that HT will forget Avengers...

Yes of course.. I just hope they didn't string us along as with the Bane they teased a while ago with no reveal...

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

The Bane teaser was a mistake on their part. They thought they could eventually reveal the full figure, but Nolan hates letting out unnecessary information for his movies. I'm positive that the studios had a black out in effect. Only figures we've seen now are the typical small action figures.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

I was just going to post the exact same thing. I love the Watchmen movie personally, but it's worldwide take was only 180 million on a 150 million budget. As Khonsu70 so succinctly stated, Avengers topped that performance slightly.

Avengers also caught the imagination of youngsters and teens in a way that Watchman with it's period settings and musings on morality never stood a chance to.

Avengers toys will be popping up over the next year or two, and they will sell, no problem at all.

Plus we wont see a Comedian 3, Dr. Manhattan 2, or Rorschach 2 anytime soon :lecture

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

Yes I do. I think it's a very good photo.

You may not find it "complimentary" but that just your opinion. Same with my comment. Neither of us is right or wrong.

Anyway, back on topic...I hope that Hot Toys posts the full reveal this week.

Yes, back on topic because there is just so much to discuss until the full reveal.

Still...back OT we go,

I'm picking next Friday for the full reveal...?

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

Let's hope that Hot Toys doesn't get lost in all the TDKR hype and forgot about The Avengers already (Remember Watchmen?)

I doubt that really. As folks have said, AVENGERS has done tons more business than WATCHMEN already. For 1/6 collectors that's a shame as WM had some really eye-catching characters in it and it too deserved a full line.

:slap :cuckoo: They've damn near finished the whole line already (a first in their history).

They've shown more attention to Avengers figures in three months than to a combination of multiple license in their whole lifetime. All their other licenses and customers are getting the Watchmen mistreatment because of getting Avengers 5 figures almost in a row to impatient and immideatley ungrateful fans.

If anything they need to slow the F down with Avengers and get some variety by producing figures from all the other licenses for all their other customers. :lecture

All in favor of getting all the Avengers at once, stand here.

All in favor of waiting to get all the Avengers over the course of a few years so that there is variety and diversity, stand over there.

...I wonder which one will win.

Could it be because the Avengers figures have been selling and the property is hot, while other properties they have acquired have simply failed to perform as well and their neglect well earned?

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

^ Except they had them all proto'd and ready Before the film even released or made any money, and Avatar's neglect despite it making around twice the bank debunks that theory.

There's been Five figures, a teaser and two development shots all in the space of three months. All i'm saying is, How is that not enough for now?

Right now it's almost a system where Avenger collectors are happy as they're getting plenty of figures and everyone else is not as they aren't getting much or ANY figures, that is not a good balance.

:peace

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

i think it's down to the big money properties, Avengers, Batman, Spiderman any superhero license will always sell well due to comic fans and movie fans etc. These films have huge fanbases unlike newer properties like Avatar. Watchmen doesnt have a big fanbase which is why people shouldn't be surprised all the characters weren't made, would of loved a Dr. Manhatten tho. Aliens, Predators and Terminator also have huge fanbases, imo HT will always capitalize and the larger licenses and i feel we should be grateful they make figures for the smaller licenses like Hellboy, Blade, Suckerpunch etc.

I know films like Avatar can be hugely successful but that doesnt translate into people buying the figures, especially at $260+

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

If you want to talk about another licence...please do so in the appropriate thread.

If you want to discuss the Black Widow figure then you are in the right place.

'Nuff Said.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS-The Avengers:Black Widow

I'm starting to have a feeling we wont see a BW reveal anytime soon :monkey2
Spacing the avengers out

With the way the other figures have been being delayed, I think even HT realizes that they need to space these out. Thor is the farthest one out due in Dec, but I'm sure he'll probably get bumped back another month or two. Meaning, even if we got the pics for BW today and a PO in a couple weeks, it could be almost a full year before we have her in-hand.
