I'm starting to have a feeling we wont see a BW reveal anytime soon
Spacing the avengers out

I got a feeling maybe they're waiting for Comic-con or somewhat near to that.. Would be great if we get the reveal this Friday and they gave us Hulk for Comic-con (one can dream, I guess..).

It's a toss-up, though, which one will be revealed first, Hulk or Mark VII.

Widow is the make or break for me in committing to buy the entire team. I'm pretty confident the rest of the team will look great. But HT has yet to demonstrate to me they can make a realistic female likeness to date.

If they get her right, I will pre-order all 7 figures on the spot.

Apparently Hottoys won a 2011 award for best female likeness for the resident evil Alice figure!

With the way the other figures have been being delayed, I think even HT realizes that they need to space these out. Thor is the farthest one out due in Dec, but I'm sure he'll probably get bumped back another month or two. Meaning, even if we got the pics for BW today and a PO in a couple weeks, it could be almost a full year before we have her in-hand.

Another year?! Which means it may be longer before we get the Hulk and the rest of the team! That really sucks! By the time we finally get them all, the hype will have already started for the Avengers 2!

Apparently Hottoys won a 2011 award for best female likeness for the resident evil Alice figure!

That award doesn't mean **** to me. Until they start sculpting some type of facial expression and eliminate this blank-stare-insert-something-fat-into-my-pouty-open-mouth look, then I'll believe that award.

The good news is that all the currently revealed Avengers figures have life-like facial expressions. So I'm optimistic HT can do Avengers Widow justice.

I'm kinda thinking the same thing, I haven't pre-ordered any from the team. I'm waiting for BW still, she will decide for me.

I'm hoping to see Black Widow & the entire Avengers lineup during SDCC...not sure if they'll have Hulk up on display but it would be cool to see him.

I don't care about hype dying down or whatever. I'm still dying to see this figure, as well as Iron Man and Hulk. And I'm still very excited about this line. That said, let us see Black Widow already! We've been looking only at her ass for a long time now. And not that I'm complaining about that, it's just that I want to see the front too!

All kidding aside, I am eagerly anticipating BW being revealed sometime soon. I'd like some sort of expression but not angry-brow. I don't need anymore angry-brow.

^ Except they had them all proto'd and ready Before the film even released or made any money, and Avatar's neglect despite it making around twice the bank debunks that theory.

There's been Five figures, a teaser and two development shots all in the space of three months. All i'm saying is, How is that not enough for now?

Right now it's almost a system where Avenger collectors are happy as they're getting plenty of figures and everyone else is not as they aren't getting much or ANY figures, that is not a good balance.

1. They had the license before the film was released, and based on the prior entries in the franchise, they had every reason to believe both the toys and the film would be popular. They also likely had early access to all the Avengers materials based on their prior relationship with Marvel.

2. Avengers is a unique opportunity and a unique franchise. HT often gets in late on a franchise (see Avatar, XM First Class, SM3, Burton Bats, etc), and rarely does a single line support so many figures. And the Avengers itself only works because of the entire team. No one wants a Watchmen situation where only half the team gets released. HT is making sure that they not only strike while the iron is hot, but that they reassure fans that they are truly committed to the whole line.

3. Most of the other franchises HT are involved with are either evergreen properties that can wait a few months without losing customers (Predator, Terminator, Star Wars, etc) or franchises where the ideal window has passed and interest likely waned (Tron, First Class, Sucker Punch, Green Lantern and so forth). The exception would be to films that are still not released - Amazing Spider-Man, Prometheus, and Dark Knight Rises most notably. ASM looks (right now) to have just one figure that will be revealed any day. By the time Dark Knight is out most or all of the Avengers figures will be revealed and people will be complaining about the attention to Batman, Joker 2.0, Catwoman and Bane.

Hopefully we'll see her full reveal later this week and preorders up on Friday.

They still have Hulk and IM to go too, so I hope they get crack-a-lackin'.

Like some of you, BW will determine if I want the whole team or not. I'm really hoping she looks great though. The only one I'm most likely not getting is Fury. Really have no interest in him.
