Also remember that the more of us that pre-order the more that will be made in general! All these companies take their pre-orders and add a certain percent to them (say 20%) and thats their final order. So if 1000 pre-orders come in they will tell Hot Toys 1,200, if only 500 pre-order it they might say 600... Once the deadline for pre-orders hits, thats all Hot Toys will make (at least until 2 years later they re-release it :rotfl)
.

Where does this information come from? I work in the manufacturing industry and we use Chinese factories all the time. Lead-time on things such as a simple shirt can be 120-150 days and that is on a simple shirt that has only one main raw materials supplier(the fabric mill). For an item as complicated as a Hot Toys collectible where you are talking about a lot of various raw materials suppliers from fabrics to raw plastics, etc I'd be surprised if the production quantities weren't set on this and the order already placed with the factory.

There is simply no way that Hot Toys waits to the end of a pre-order phase in order to set a production run. I apologize and do not mean to appear as if I am personally attacking you, but the above post's information has absolutely no basis in reality.

Such a sexy figure. Reminds me of a young Dana Scully. Or rather Gillian Anderson. :D

What a figure, if it even looks like a figure!

People are actually complaining about that. Personally, it is my biggest concern with this figure. That and the hair, which looks good in the pictures, but rooted hair always turns out messy in the final products.

Exactly what I was just talking about in the SM thread. It doesn't matter what your seeing here, the final figure ain't gonna look that good.

Regardless of if it looks passable now, it surely won't after sitting in packaging for weeks, its styling product, no differant then when you put gel in your hair and goto sleep, when you wake up 8 hours later the part of your hair that was on the pillow is matted and messed up. They wrap the heads in that little piece of clear plastic that mattes the hair against the sculpt, so your getting hair product mashed and melted into a hand painted head and have to redo the hair anyway.

Get a $200 custom head paint from Silent Surfer and rub hair gel all over it. Sound insane? Same situation exactly.

I never had a problem fixing it.

It's just too much of a pain in the ass. I really don't like rooted hair.

As I said your getting hair product in a hand painted item which I promise you will cause damage eventually. And it's too much futzing and worrying. I already have slight worries that the paint or outfit will be bad/broken and need sending back, now I might get a poorly stylized haircut and have to keep fixing it whenever I turn her head etc. Just too much.

I just got a haircut today because I hate having to constantly gel and fix my own hair when it's shoulder length, so I'm definately not about to start worrying about it on dolls.

And finally of course, it just doesn't look right to me to have her displayed with the rest of the Avengers who all have sculpted hair, including Thor who's hair is actually longer then hers. :lol Or next to Abagail Whistler who has sculpted female hair, one of them is going to end up looking wrong or like they are wearing a plastic hair helmet.

Yeah, why not give Thor rooted hair, as well? HT is sexist.

Nick Fury w/ real hair goatee. Stark with rooted hair but sculpted goatee? It's all just too ridiculous and all over the place, keep it all to one thing sculpted or real, especially for a single license where they will be displayed right next to each other.

The head sculpt is perfect! Definitely worried about how the rooted hair will look when it comes out of the package, but it definitely looks great in the pics. 28 cm is roughly 11 inches, so it looks like they'll have her height right this time. (The IM2 version was definitely too tall proportionately to her in real life)

Yup, I can see her a little in the second shot you referenced. Would need a bit of babyfat to match up I think. The young Gillian was a bit rounder in the face. Good eye though.

what did you guys expect the price to be $135-150 its been known for months maybe longer then that hot toys raised prices :panic::panic:

I'll be able to get one on ebay for $150ish no problem. Why complain about the price? When these come out, there will be plenty.

I think this is by far HT's best female (yes, even over Babydoll). And I think I'm gonna get her. Wasn't going to, but man she looks great and, more importantly, very realistic. Hair may be a deal breaker once in-hand shots come out though.
