Are HT figures anatomically correct? That would be amusing....
Would make comparing the likeness to the source material difficult.

I like the idea of swap-out hair for those who want an option. Or maybe 2 sculpts, well essentially the same sculpt, but one with rooted hair and one with sculpted. Allow the collector the option of displaying the one they'd prefer.
Sure that would be an ideal option, but I already suggested the possible cause: Scarlett Johansson herself requesting doll hair on the figure. It is not as if Hot Toys has unilateral scope with these decisions.
Girls grow up playing with dolls that rarely have sculpted hair. I think there is a high probability of a woman expecting and thus requesting that feature on a doll of a character she portrays. Add to that the fact that A list actresses probably tend to get what they want.
Somehow, I just don't think ScarJo even knows what HT is, much less trying to influence their decisions on her likeness. I'm sure she's got business handlers for that crap anyway and they're just worried about how much the royalty check is.
Widow is the make or break for me in committing to buy the entire team. I'm pretty confident the rest of the team will look great. But HT has yet to demonstrate to me they can make a realistic female likeness to date.
If they get her right, I will pre-order all the figures on the spot.
5 days ago I posted this. So I must keep true to my word.

That is a common stereotype of Hollywood actresses of course, but it does not reasonably explain the situation.
Hot Toys said the hair would be sculpted, which I think clearly signals what they preferred. They cannot possibly be unaware that certain male collectors absolutely hate doll hair and that using it will have a net negative impact on sales.
That suggests that someone on the licensor side of the decision making requested doll hair and Hot Toys had no choice but to comply. The simplest explanation is that ScarJo herself or a woman close to her made the request.
Edit: I would also add we know from Hot Toys past comments that the actors themselves do comment on or approve the sculpts at times.
Finally someone else thinks this too! This is exactly what I've been saying about why this could've change from sculpted to rooted hair. Licensor most likely wanted rooted hair. Could've been ScarJo herself, we don't know. It's not that far fetched to think she'd have some input on this just b/c she's a hollywood actress and a beautiful one at that. Hell, Amanda Seyfried has a growing taxidermy collection, which IMO is creepier than collecting 1/6 scale figures
Why, I think like every Marvel celeb ever has posed naked at some point. Halle, Anna Paquin, Gwyneth, Jessica Beil, Alba, Scarlett, Kirsten Dunst, even that ugly russian girl from SM3 was naked on Hung.
Plus DC, Katie Holmes, Maggie, Kate Bosworth, Malin, Hathaway, hell it may as well be a prerequisite to being in a Superhero movie.
Hell, Amanda Seyfried has a growing taxidermy collection, which IMO is creepier than collecting 1/6 scale figures
Seriously, ewwww
