Well the technique used on the screen used suits to capture those blue and purple hues im sure was done a special way.
It may be difficult to do on this figure if u don't know how they did it.

I have seen some on the forum say that they will buy the battle damaged robocop with the hopes that the colour will be better than the clean version.
Thing is, those who buy both (such as myself) would perhaps want the 2 figures to match in armour colour... to have continuity between the 2.
I mean, I really don't care...I just want the Robocop no matter what colour he is hahaha

And enough with the fighting guys....I enjoy coming here and seeing others opinions. I understand you can get frustrated ect... but this is a community and I think we should all just respect each other and enjoy together a passion we all share for pop culture and collecting.

I am hoping the battle damage is more oily and greasy, but yes, it would be nice if the base paint matched the clean version.

I have no doubt we will see a Robo 2 in the future and the contrast between 1 and 2 should make for a nice display.

And again, my apologies for my involvement in the unpleasantness.

I am now finally keeping my word and backing out of this thread until I have this bad boy in hand and all the speculation and bashing hot toys is replaced with high praise and comments about how perfect it looks in hand! Lol
"Robocop...Figure of the year"... "even better than the T1 that we hated based on pics and praised once it was in hand" lololol

Regular version has been released in HK. Not much of a delay after the chair version.

Sweet! I've had him on PO since day one (without the chair) and was hoping there wouldn't be another delay for the regular version.

The nitpicking is common right before the release for the figure. In a few weeks people will have him in-hand and he'll be FOTY, regardless of the color of the suit.

Bountiful morning, Terminator BD and this arrived earlier.
Very very nice. It is too silver, but it has got some nice tones to it also. You need a lower exposure camera-wise to show it off properly. Anything to bright and it blows it like aluminium foil. Like-wise for video. But it is still too stylised bright. Rubber in arms and knees, hopefully like IM not ED. Heavy vinyl sections are not an issue. faceplates are too "warm" but minor nitpick.
I really don't know why they bothered with die-cast though.

This is a beautiful figure. And guys, the chair is awesome, it looks just like a cheap 80's film prop, which is great.

I mean with that shiny finish doesn't shining white light onto the silver metallic paint just make it look more silver?
That's like shining white light onto red paint and making it look pink.

To see the real paint tone that HT have used on the armour, you need low flat exposure, isolated from different colour temperature lights (like dioders, LEDS, room lights etc). As well as being too silver, he is also too reflective.

There is some tone there in the silver but not enough. But it's so beautiful a figure you won't care (for a while) when you open him.

So in short, too silver, but not as silver as the vids/photos have made him out?

Also Rory, is he top heavy? I hate stands.

So why is the gun that goes into the leg diecast? I would agree that posing the dc gun in hand would be heavier and hard to hold with thosefingers, but then why have a dc at all then? I mean diecast for the gun seems pointless right as it wouldn't hold anymore detail then plastic I think for something like a gun.

Because mention "diecast" and people start drooling I suspect.

He's not too top heavy, but I still wouldn't leave him without a stand. Diecast adds that extra overall weight, so if he topples he's more likely to be damaged.
And yeah, he is silver but not C3PO levels.

Thanks Rory. Not really the news I wanted to hear. Guess it's good the knees are ratcheted. I'll have to find a nice stable pose for him and lock him behind the glass. :)

Lucky!!!

I hate you!!!

No, for reals, thanks for the summary there. I personally can't wait for this figure. It is a beauty and I just won't join the complainers here. Yes, the "Diecast" fiasco sucks, as I believe they could've done without it. But other than that, there's nothing to nitpick here. It's silver and in certain light you will be able to see the blue much like the EB one.

Can't wait for this!

Please post pics (needless to say) whenever you get some time, in sure we'd all appreciate that, even the nitpickers that will be buying this and calling it FOTY anyway.

Thanks again.

Robo without the chair has just been released in Hong Kong now.
Super excited, I just bought one and got ems shipping so it should be waiting for me when I get home from my honeymoon.
Something to ease the blow from 2 weeks in paradise

Nice!, thanks for the review

Edit: after watching some of clips video, he does appear too shiny, foil like( to quote Rory)
