I'm in also for a dome Anthropoid.

This is just so unacceptable. We should pressure Hot Toys to give us a FREE (made of plastic) dome replacement instead. C'mon this is a $400 item and people have to pay extra bucks to replace a defective dome? As a paying customer, this IS NOT and SHOULD NOT be our problem in the first place.

No offense to those who are making replacement domes and I really appreciate you guys for doing it but this path should be our last resort.

Hot Toys will just get away with it again.

I also completely agree. We should all contact sideshow or BBTS and pressure them to ask HT for a replacement dome! Contacting SideShow now!!

Well I am also having cracks on the dome but the cracks on the legs are worse!! Is there anything I can do with this? Should I contact Sideshow and get a replacement or return it? I bought it directly from them. I'm very upset with this. Mine has been on a shelf no sunlight exposure or extreme temperatures this is bad.

Jeez.

I'd just return it and get my money back. That sucks.

How is this happening so fast? I'd still consider these brand stinkin' new.

Isn't Phil Tippett coming out with his own ED? Does anyone know any more about this?

I just can't believe how bad the legs are. To my surprise the arms and the neck are fine at the moment.

"still got the factory sticker on it!".

+1

Imho, that figure should be returned for a refund.. it is starting to look as though Hot Toys have managed to source rubber so cheap, that none of those components are going to last for any appreciable amount of time.. it is most disappointing, but unless Hot Toys are sent a very clear message that Collectors will not accept shoddy goods, they will have no incentive to rectify these totally unacceptable QC problems.. hit 'em where they will notice it.. in the wallet.

I'm putting mine outside today, so that it cracks to hell. 101 degrees here right now.

Burn, *****!
lol, good idea

i dont want to even email timcent as i dont have any cracks!(yet)
the rubber that covers the arm and leg joints appear very solid on my figure

Haha, that is one way to fix ED's wagon. :lol

Now that I've seen those joint covers cracking, I have to admit I'm thinking about doing a return. Don't see any way for us to fix that sort of stuff and figure is likely to look pretty bedraggled in a very short time (supposing we see more examples of the joint covers rotting). Even if the distributor that I bought from won't take it back, my credit card covers me for 90 days against breakage... Looks like ED might have to re-enact his stair falling scene from the movie (a couple dozen times). :D

im right at 90 days, got it mid april

what are you thinking?

You might still be covered, if you paid by Credit Card (via PayPal) through the Card's terms and conditions.. this will vary between different card companies and according to what the product purchased is.. so it is worth checking, if only for future reference so you know precisely what your protection is when buying on-line, in addition to Paypal's 45 days.

However, if your figure is not exhibiting the QC issues yet, it may be very difficult to initiate a return through the Grey channel.

Another factor to bear in mind if figures are purchased through the Grey channel, is that the cost of returning faulty goods to an overseas destination (make sure it is only sent to a verified address, using a tracked service, which HAS to be signed for) on a large and relatively heavy item, tends to be very expensive.

I don't know if talking about sabotaging our own figures is wise lads. You'll have Hot Toys White Knights like that twat on facebook accusing everyone of deliberately causing the dome cracks, genuine cases of deterioration could end up getting dismissed.
