I genuinely can't believe (sort of anyway) that they've not recalled this piece of crap. No matter what you pay, it's incredibly over-priced.

I agree I seriously don't know how I feel anymore about both companies, they are really letting me down
Yeah when I saw this my feelings about Hot Toys being a premier brand in this type of thing (and they are, mostly) just dropped significantly low. I mean what have they done to resolve the problem for all those who bought a product that they either have to spend extra money to buy products that MAY (and may not) stop the rubber from cracking or just watch it drop apart in a shelf? that is disgusting on its own.
That said I am still picking up Robo/BD Robo and Murphy. The BTTF "Marty McFly" has me intrigued as well but I don't like the empty headed expression they've given him (that's for another thread though).
Why the sudden change of heart? QC worries?
You shouldn't feel bad Fran, its ****ed up that they even let this out of the factory, I think its common sense though you can't use a material that is gong to stretch and want to stretch back to its original form, a fabric would of been way better. But I agree with you I would never buy this unless there was a lifetime guarantee. Will this be a loss for HT's and SS? Who knows, I just hope they learn from it, which I doubt they will too.
Agreed and I'm likely to pick one up when it drops because it's probably my favourite movie of all time with Robocop coming a close second.
Essentially. Some part about paying for this just makes me somewhat sick. Impulse buy at its finest, but then I realized how stupid it was.
Thanks man. Yeah, idk, some claim theirs is in perfect shape and I'm happy for those. I just hate being paranoid about something breaking and even worse if I knew it could happen and bought it still.
Would much rather take my girl to an expensive dinner and other things with that cash.
Is there any way to protect from the cracking and other known defects? Will really be a shame to have to return. I'm going to wait out the battle-damaged RoboCop without the helmet.
Yeah, I did. Back it'll go.
Haven't even opened the thing, I just feel sick.
I realize how stupid I sound, btw.
SSC is going to probably hate me forever.

Sorry to hear that, but it's probably for the best. If you get a bad one, if it isn't the dome, then it's the rubber at the joints that will fall apart. That Optibotimus video is the best example of HT QC at its worst.
If HT had any honor/cared about its customers, it would take back every defective figure and fix the dome and joints. But whatcha gonna do?
Got mine today from Sideshow; no issues out of the box. So far love this guy, but he's huge!
