Well....except having the old one. :lol

I think most people are newer fans, which get spoiled with great sculpts and paint applications, and don't know how good they have it. Compared to say like a old V1 Robocop or others T1 BD V1, HT's first figure if I'm not mistaken? I only say that cause they complain about the new sculpts and paint apps to figures, when in the back of my mind I'm thinking, oh god you don't even know.....:lol

Congratulations on the piece. I hope it all works for you at the end. It truly is a sight to behold, and yes, nothing prepares you for how huge he actually is.

Sorry, fran, just too easy.

I worry for this clumsy SOB every time he gets close to a ledge

Looks like your enjoying him Spanbauer :yess:. You reminded me that I have to make use of the BD arm. It's too cool of an accessory to be box fodder. Gonna repose him when Robo gets here

Great pics. i like the mark 42 waiting to jump ED 209 , just like in robocop 2 when robocop jumped on Cain....

Is gigerfan allowed to have his own input on the first post of this thread? I just happen to click on the first page of this thread. He wrote having Ed209 inside its box causes the rubber dome package as a fact.

I posted awhile ago that I had mines inside its box for 3 months in a hot living room during the summer and nothing ever happened.

Those pics are on the verge of making me want to buy him, so you still on the fence about Robo?
Thanks, fellas! ED's a lot of fun to pose. PopCollector, I'm just waiting for Sideshow to ship my Robocop. I have concerns about the bright silver, however. If it's as bad as it looks in some of the pics and videos, might have to sell him for the battle-damaged version next year.

I don't know the facts of Styrofoam's chemical release or it's effects so I'm not positive how accurate his info is. He sounds like he knows what he's talking about :lol but I didn't do the research to see if Styrofoam could have a bad reaction with rubber causing it to degrade. But people's reports of the whole rubber issue with any figure has always been completely inconsistent. I think we'll figure out how to cure cancer before we learn what conditions cause the rubber cracking, and what conditions prevent it.

I don't think it's as bad in person but some people really aren't doing it any favours with their pics and vids. It does not look great under intense bright light.

For sure. It's kind of funny, I think the lighting environments just keep getting brighter and brighter. Last lucky owner who I saw take photos did so outside in direct sunlight. I'm going to photograph mine on the surface of the sun :lol

Hey ED-209 owners,

I've had my ED for about 9 days now and love him. But I have a couple questions/issues:

1. The little missile guard piece that attached to the right arm - is there meant to be more holding that in than just gravity? Seems I can't so much as look at ED without it falling out. I could glue it in but then I'd never be able to rebox him.

2. Got some new AAA's for the sound features, but the remote is really spotty. While the red light comes on every time I press the button, sometimes it takes as many as 15 presses for ED to actually play a sound. Anyone else have that issue? Maybe the watch batteries Hot Toys provided with the remote are faulty.

Thanks!

Grats on the ed
1. Same here, it will fall out. Just slide it in best you can. I wouldnt recommend glueing cause it could be permanent
2. Never had that issue. I wonder if there is interference or is it just that the remote batteries are already low?

Good luck on the rubber. Ed is an epic figure, hot toys nailed it!

Ugh its like this figure has more and more problems than just the dome :gah: I passed on the V1 but didn't want to pass on this one, but more and more I read about problems, maybe if it goes down to 150.00
