One word "Arrogance" they've proved time and time again, they don't care what us customers outside of Asia say or want, why would they change now.

Looking at the new one and an old picture, you can see a frame thats now around the new dome. Maybe they have changed the compound, why do that and keep the same rubber, don't make sense.

Old

New

And look at the difference on the new grill compared to the old one :clap

HT doesn't respond directly because they know any time they say anything, its like kicking a beehive. Just look how crazy people went over that fake interview :panic:

Also (it means nothing now) but I personally sent HT 5 emails explaining this issue in detail with like 10 pictures that perfectly illustrated our concerns. so whatevs :gah:

What the hell is up with Enterbay and Hot Toys dropping the ball on their Robocop related products? We get a rubber dome on ED, again, plus some detail missing, again, and to top it off, the freaky voice over. After the Robocop 3 fiasco with Enterbay, I just gotta wonder why are things souring once again but this time with Hot Toys. Weird. Everything on this new ED looks spectacular but then on close inspection...

The voice is bad, they tried but you can instantly tell it's not the voice from the movie. Along with that the dome is disappointing obviously, let's just hope it holds up better than the last. Also noticed the "oil drips" from the screw holes on the leg area, I saw someone mention they looked like decals which I'd agree. Coulda been done better IMO. The sound I will never use and the drips are only noticeable close up so honestly I can't wait for this guy, gonna look great. Can't wait to try an recreate some poses.

EB doesn't have a license for Robo 1 like HT does. Also, they don't make you pay an NRD.

My word people sure are obsessed with posing ED-209's arms upside down! Its everywhere you look. Granted this guy was just demoing the articulation but I wouldn't be surprised if he left it that way.

And god damn, what was HT thinking with redoing the voice? Why not just reuse the original sound clips? ****ing ********.

:lecture ****ing awful. Way-to-kill all of his intimidation factor. Even the mechanical-based sounds are somewhat spoiled by the way some of them abruptly stop.

:Centrocal "I recall Anthropoid had posted direct audio recordings in the thread somewhere said:
Yep. And they were great!
Hey thanks, I'm really glad you liked the clips.
If the sound feature in my new ED-209 was important to me (which it isn't) I could load my wav files onto a sound chip and replace the crappy sound effects with authentic ones. Just a thought, for those who might want to try it. Feel free to use my wav files.

I hate to hear the news about the rubber dome, but I strongly suspect the new rubber isn't actually rubber at all - seems likely to be a flexible vinyl, similar to the Batman '89 suit, or maybe silicone, neither of which are subject to shrinkage over time like actual rubber is. I don't think the new material is stretched, like someone else here mentioned. The new dome has a thin black border around it, which implies to me that the border is part of a solid casting.
Bottom line: If this new dome is crap, I'll be making a silicone rubber mold directly from it, and casting new domes in pre-colored plastic resin. Then I'll do a very light dry-brush to add a metallic sheen, and it will look more screen-accurate than the original HT out of the box.

You should start a custom replacement sound chip service man :lol. Hell i pay you assuming its not too much.

Jesus H Christ that looks absolutely incredible in that kidultshop video. I don't get all the negativity about the sound function. Who gives a ****? I didn't even know there was a sound function on this when I ordered it. Would it have been better if it had been movie accurate? Of course. But look at the detail and articulation on that thing! :rock

Finally positive sounds, rory.
Same thoughts for me.
I just care for the looks and articulation...

I honestly only care about the looks and articulation, too, but I totally get being annoyed with the sounds: Even if we're not planning on using them, we are still paying for that jacked up voice.
