Just like the HT Robocop has the chair option, I wish they had made the control panel as an accessory included with ED-209. It has two tiny orange lights on the board that could function, and lots of detail. No 1/6 technicians required for display in my opinion- but the control thingy on its little wheels would look very cool beside ED... I might just have to make one.

Agreed, would be a nice addition.

Seems like everyone's getting shipping notices but me, heh. Hope it turns up unannounced or get a notice soon.

So has anyone been able to remove the legs once they've been assembled? Or are we SOL as collectors if we wanted to rebox him after assembly?

Yep. It's been posted a few posts before not too long ago.
I think it was Gigerfan who disassembled it twice...

Here is yet another decal to add to the list. In the boardroom scene, this triangular orange decal is on ED's right knee.
Later, when ED is fighting Robocop in Iron-butt Jones' office, the same area on ED's right knee has the red and white triangular decal, which comes on the Hot Toys figure. (Hot toys put one on both sides, which is not accurate- the decal only is on the right side, the left knee is shown NOT to have it on screen.) The orange 'boardroom' decal version is what I have reconstructed here, in the bottom right of the photo.

Amazing work buddy! :D
Cool how you figure that stuff out.

Aren't you afraid that the figure would be too "crowded" with all decals applied?

Seriously pissed off with SSC, still waiting on a shipping notice. Told me yesterday it was going to be shipped, but of course that was bull ****.

I don't think it's an alternate decal, I think it appears to be orange because of the way it's shot.

There's also a scene in the boardroom where the triangular warning decal isn't present.

Should have my second ED tomorrow.

The decal in question is absent only on the life-size prop, which is shown in your photo. And yes, on the animation models (there were more than one used in filming) some of the decals didn't match. This is one example of that. The bright tangerine orange decal is very different from the red and white version, including the center and the border. My reconstruction of the orange version was inspired by the orange decal which was produced for the Horizon model kit years ago, with some corrections and refinements based upon careful observation. Also, on the animation models, the decal (both versions) is only present on the right knee... HT put it on both sides, which proves HT didn't do quite enough research about the details.

I'm not adding anything really; I'm just blending together the images that I like from both the life-size prop and the animation model, which are exclusive to each one in the film. The tiny black text printed on the gun pods, (1:1 prop) the yellow and black caution bars on the knee joints, (1:1 prop) then refinements and alternates for decals on the animation model which are already represented on the HT figure. These things are so small anyway, crowding won't be a problem for me.

I remember the old ED209 also being very hard to disassemble on the knees but it was doable...

Can't imagine they would change that...

The type of connectors for the legs are similar to those little grey connector tubes in LEGO. Lip on the edge, with a slit halfway down each side. Push it in the hole until the lip reaches the end and snaps in. There's no technique to seperating them, just pull them apart.

I got mine this morning and I love it- it's an amazing figure. That said, I immediately started to make important fixes... at least they're important to me. Besides the decals, the first two problems I noticed (and they were VERY noticeable) were these:
ED-209 fix 01.JPG
ED-209 fix 02.JPG
ED-209 fix 03.JPG
ED-209 fix 04.JPG
ED-209 fix 05.JPG
ED-209 fix 06.JPG
More fixes to come...

Wow, puttin in work from day 1, interested to see what it looks like when you are done
