Glad to see the waitlist opened back up. I've been on since Oct 30 so hopefully I see a conversion. Sucks for the Aussies. I'm sure there's a good reason but it'd be nice if they'd share it.

I did hear a rumour it was the Aussie distributors trying to protect their local interests. :dunno

Well if Aussie distributors can stock the exclusives as well, then I don't have a problem with it. They should also have the items available at the same time as SSC does, if not beforehand, considering China is closer to us than it is to the U.S.

If Star Lord was never available for us to preorder or waitlist, then fair enough, but the fact that it was available and it has changed since then is unfair to collectors. But of course a waitlist means nothing, SSC can do whatever they want, even cancel a converted waitlist if they want to.

Yup it sucks.

When the diecast MK III went up for PO, the EX was not available to AUS so I ordered the standard, then a couple of hours later they opened the Ex to AUS, then closed it again almost immediately. :cuckoo:

That's the frustrating thing, that the "no Australians" is so arbitrary and inconsistent. As I posted previously, Starlord won't ship to Aus but all the rest of the Guardians will, Loki won't ship to Aus but Thor will, Stormtroopers won't ship to Aus but Han, Chewie and Darth will. Then's the ever changing status. Black Widow could ship to Aus, then couldn't then could, then couldn't. It was listed as not shipping to Aus when they shipped my order to Aus. I have an active Reg Starlord order that will ship to Aus because I got it in during a window, but apparently a waitlist order placed during that window gets skipped. Likely will cancel for local because even with the 10% discount they gave me it's still about $15 more.

Popcultcha is listed as the official distributor of Hot Toy's on the Hot Toy's website so if anyone is asking for restrictions it's them. But Popcultcha told me they get all their stock from Sideshow and if they had asked sideshow to restrict items, why is it so arbitrary and why would things not be available and then become available?

The whole thing reeks.

Totally agree with you. It's becoming too frustrating to deal with SSC.

Pop is supplied by these guys, Ikon: Ikon Collectables -

If anyone is causing problems, it's most likely them.

Why isn't there a distributer that is dealing directly with HT? If SSC can buy direct, why can't someone in Australia that isn't a wholesaler like Ikon is?

I feel that they are restricting 1 item from each licence. Originally Star Lord was okay, but maybe it sold too well and the Aussie supplier asked for this to be restricted so they could move their product. Only thing that makes sense considering the restriction was applied more than 3 months after the original preorder release.
With Star Wars it is has only been the Stormtroopers so far. What's going to get restricted when all the AoU figures go up for preorder? Probably the Hulkbuster! Maleficent is also restricted.

I agree, it's getting annoying to deal with SSC. However whoever it is in Australia that is pushing for all of this, lift your game and supply us with the Exclusives and a faster release schedule if you insist on stopping us from purchasing from overseas. People buy from SSC because they're the only place outside of Asia that can offer the exclusive figures. It's even harder to get them in Asia than it is with SSC, which seems ridiculous in itself considering it is a HK company and product.

I imagine with the new Asian agreement between SSC and HT that it would become pretty impossible for people from those countries to get exclusives anymore, unless they attend the toy shows.

man... thats terrible :slap maybe its better to buy from a seller at HK?

SS shipping this yet....my last flex is 5 February but would be nice to it ships out then.

It won't ship until they get the figure.... its currently held up in the ports because of the dispute. We most likely will not get this until February or March, but it could be longer :dunno

This figure went from being an early release to now maybe even being later than it was originally going to be. That's really a shame.

Yes, once again, completely agree with you.

If restrictions are going to be placed on Australian collectors buying overseas then the local market needs to step up and offer the exclusives along with a more timely release schedule.

I don't get how the Australian wholesales/distributors can block SSC from selling within their territory when they won't offer the same product for sale locally. I could understand it if they were protecting their interests to sell the exclusives, but they are not because the exclusives are not being offered for sale.

If they are not willing to offer the same product, all they are doing is forcing collectors to settle for an alternative (inferior?) version or look to potentially riskier sources such as eBay and unlicensed sellers.

Even Chris Pratt loved it! :clap
