That's the frustrating thing, that the "no Australians" is so arbitrary and inconsistent. As I posted previously, Starlord won't ship to Aus but all the rest of the Guardians will, Loki won't ship to Aus but Thor will, Stormtroopers won't ship to Aus but Han, Chewie and Darth will. Then's the ever changing status. Black Widow could ship to Aus, then couldn't then could, then couldn't. It was listed as not shipping to Aus when they shipped my order to Aus. I have an active Reg Starlord order that will ship to Aus because I got it in during a window, but apparently a waitlist order placed during that window gets skipped. Likely will cancel for local because even with the 10% discount they gave me it's still about $15 more.

Popcultcha is listed as the official distributor of Hot Toy's on the Hot Toy's website so if anyone is asking for restrictions it's them. But Popcultcha told me they get all their stock from Sideshow and if they had asked sideshow to restrict items, why is it so arbitrary and why would things not be available and then become available?

The whole thing reeks.

Interesting... I can't get the regular Star-Lord shipped to New Zealand, yet they'll ship all the other Guardians.... The other item I noticed I can't order is the Iron Man Mk 42... yet can pre-order the Mk 43 (both regular and EX)

I don't know about official distributors, but the only place online here I know that sells Hot Toys and Sideshow is Mighty Ape...

Don't buy from Mighty Ape, their prices are so high they are ridiculous!

Popcultcha will ship to NZ and prices are much more reasonable.

I'm a huge MA fan with most things.... but their prices for SS and HT are too high.... I did get my reg Nathan Drake PFF from them... more because at the time I didn't want to order such a high value item from overseas... That much money I think would have attracted import fees.. all my 1:6 orders have been direct from Sideshow..

Just got an email saying they most likely will not be able to fulfill my waitlist reservation for the ex. But they made sure to let me know that there is less than 40 left of the regular :lol

Just got that email as well. :( I thought it was a waitlist conversion...

I got the same email....so I can get the regular edition shipped to Australia, even though it's no able to be shipped there, but they can't convert a waitlist that was placed back in August?

These people are just clowns. Also, nobody believes their ridiculous inventory, they said the same thing about the regular Marty and that was months ago.

Sideshow's stupid fake inventory counts were bad enough, but seeing that they are now straight up skipping people who are on waitlists is enough to make me never buy from them, just on principle. Glad I didn't order from them.

I remember getting the e-mail that said that there were only a handful of Captain America PFs remaining. Yet, a month later, it's still available and isn't listed under "last chance".

It's not necessarily Sideshow restricting sales to any one region. Who sells where and what is controlled by Hot Toys and Marvel/Disney/DC/Sony ect. It could be that another company has an agreement with marvel (for star lord) or disney(malifecent) to make a product in that region, and part of that licensing agreement restricts what hot toys can sell in that region.

People seem to think these companies do this for amusement or just to mess with folks. There is almost (99.999%) always a reason for these issues. It's an extremely complex process. Any agreement that Marvel or DC or Sony or whomever makes with one licensor in one region will effect what another licensor can make or sell in that region. If Hot toys makes a 1/6 star lord for the Americas and Africa ect and another company has a licenses (say a company like Bowen or imaginarium or koto ect) for that character that's says no other 6inch to 24inch products can be sold in the area so that they can justify the license cost then that's what happens. The star lord is for sale in all other markets but not where there would be over lap. And vise versa.

so...my birthday's in April, & I was planning on getting star-lord for myself for it because I love giving presents. my question is, is the only difference between the "exclusive version" and non is that the exclusive version comes with an orb?

The exclusive also comes with handcuffs.

oh ok. thank u!

i won't lose any sleep over getting just the regular then :). I'm sure I can buy an orb by itself down the line if I really wanted it. I'm def not concerned w/ having cuffs for my star-lord

especially since he only wears cuffs while wearing the short jacket in the prison... you could use them for Gamora though

I think the Hot Toys ones are missing the light up feature :(

Ehh, I cancelled my order for the regular. While I do want this, I figure I'll wait until they put free shipping or bonus rewards point on him before ordering again. It's not like there won't be a surplus given how they still have so many good figures in stock, with free shipping and extra rewards.

If I somehow miss out, well I'm sure Hot Toys will make a Short Jacket or Ravager Star-Lord at some point.

I can see how that would apply if those figures were completely unavailable to Australia, but they are not. The standard versions are readily available, the exclusive versions are not. So in this situation, your theory does not apply.

Nice idea though, thanks. :duff
