So, ended up with a lot more cash than I had expected in selling some other collections. Decided to go with SL over AoU Thor, ASM2 Spidey and DOFP Wolvie. Timing is pretty sweet as my Groot and Rockey (along with everyone elses) was pushed out and I'm jonesing for some HT love like crazy. So, my question is, as I do not care about the exclusive, should I go ahead and order this when it comes in stock? Or pop the pre-order on it even though it's out in a week? Don't know why but I really don't want to add another PO to the 5 I already have going, even if he's coming out in a week or so.

I think the regular will be in stock. They would have made a quite a few of these figures and I think there's been several cancellations due to the dock issues. Also with the exchange rate with other countries, I am sure international customers would have cancelled to get locally for cheaper.

Depends where you're at, I'm guessing. Here in Canada, any savings for buying locally are pretty marginal. Maybe a bit on shipping and handling fees but otherwise the prices are marked up to compensate for the exchange rate, assuming they don't charge in US dollars by default. I prefer ordering direct from SSC, myself. Just easier to deal with if there are any problems and I'm letting my points build up over time.

Yeah I live in Canada, but my homebase is Australia and in the end it is still cheaper to buy from there now. Cheapest ive seen Star Lord is AUD $280 with free shipping. At SSC it's US$265 with shipping, which equates to AUD $340 now. So a $60 saving buying locally is a big difference.
We have no import taxes under $1000, so buying from SSC is a great deal when the dollar is equal.

I know stores like Another Dimension were right on par with the exchange rate for the Cap set. I actually ended up having to pay extra money for COD so the savings are there.

I buy from Another Dimension when I don't want to wait. Like for my Catwoman PF. I bought it there instead of waiting for SS to ship me mine.

I once went to one of those.... except it was super weird.... dogs were the size of cats and cats were the size of dogs....
They did have my Starlord though and it was fine.....

Why does his head sculpt look blurry to me

I know what you mean. I've been thinking that since the in hand pics started rolling in also. That's why I asked if anyone had the pics from the con handy, so I can compare proto to production.

It definitely softened up slightly in production (as per usual), but I think that it's just one of those sculpts that photographs that way. I've seen some OMG/Jingo Bell quality pics that captured more of the fine details that I'd think are more apparent in hand

Well after 6 months, my waitlist has finally converted. I was thinking it was never gonna happen and was ready to purchase the regular locally as it would end up being a fair bit cheaper anyway. However I really wanted this exclusive version, so I'll suck it up and pay the extra.

That is it for me for awhile though. I have the Rocket and Groot pack on Flexpay with just one more payment to come before shipping. I'll pick up Gamora at some time down the line. As there's no ex, I'm not really in a hurry right now.

Too many things I want and not enough money to get it all :(
