That's really odd, as many wait lists are extended for a year or more after the initial product sell out.

Got an email from Sideshow about my waitlist, saying they will have to cancel it since there is no more stock left. They gave me a nice option to get normal Star Lord, but... isn't the point of the waitlist to wait and see if orders are canceled before release? That seems a little silly, but at this point I don't think I really care. I just wanted that damn Infinity Gem.

Maybe there is a huge queue for the EX, and they are trying to cut off people who aren't super invested in it? Only real reason I could think of.
Depends. There's the obvious figures that require an NRD, & then there is this:Quick question, I've bought 3 pieces from SSC and as far as I'm concerned they don't charge anything until the figure is ready to ship...correct?...so if I hit the buy button on this figure I don't have to worry about paying till the day is released...just wanna make sure
So if you only order 1, then I don't think you pay anything immediately, but when ordering 2 or more, you pay.SSC said:When ordering 2 or more of this item, a non-refundable deposit of $23.50 per item is required and will charged within 24-48 hours of order placement.

That is different. This figure is that popular? Crazy. That's really odd, as many wait lists are extended for a year or more after the initial product sell out.
So glad I PO this guy before the wait list. Must be a hell of a popular figure
Or HT is cutting production.
You can cancel and place a new order. There is no NRD, so you won't lose any money... unless you selected Flexpay. I guess they charge fees for cancellation depending on the number of payments made.I should have waited before ordering the regular. Just got the same offer but I doubt they will apply it to the existing order
They really need to cut back. There is way to many HT boxes collecting dust at SS.
Yep, agreed. Too much stuff getting huge discounts after a lot of people have paid full MSRP. Basically they're shooting themselves in the foot by overproducing, since less and less people will PO and hang back, waiting for a discount, instead. I think also the overabundance makes collectors complacent. There's really no rush to get your order in, if you know you have months and months to do it.
Who pre pays with Sideshow? You either Flex or pay in full when the item ships.
So do HT make this orb exclusively to Sideshow? So people in HK who order from Secret Base won't even get the exclusive orb? Seeing as they are posing the Starlord figure with the orb at all the conventions it seems silly if you can't even get it unless you order with SS
