Re: Hot Toys 【Solo: A Star Wars Story - 1/6th scale Darth Maul Collectible Figure】
Bring on Darth Bane ! It's got it all. Jedi, Sith.
And most importantly a totally different perspective from the Sith side rather than the typical "good guys side".
I really hope those rumours about a Darth Bane series are true.

There?s no question that this little Darth Maul?Darth Sidious?Darth Plagueis?Darth Bane side discussion has gone a bit off topic but at the same time, it?s a good little exchange; sorry, not sorry!
@Hoody999, ever since those rumors became more widespread moving on to sites and channels with millions of readers/followers/viewers, I?ve been more positive about the potential ?Bane show? to become reality than ever! I?ve read the trilogy once and listened a bunch more times on audible as the Bane Trilogy is, in my opinion, some of the best SW content. As part of a bunch of other SW ebooks from a hefty gift certificate, I?d actually recommend most listen to the trilogy even if they prefer reading, the narrator and sound effects together are fantastic! The next few fragments are just a handful of examples of the incredible stories explored within the trilogy, which is 1 reason why I believe the
?Threading the needle? from book 1, 2 & 3. Caleb, the healer of Ambria, father of Princess Serra of Doan. Serra hires The Huntress, who had previously been introduced through Lucia, as Serra wanted to capture Bane, the gigantic bald man clad in black armor who haunted her dreams and who she also blamed for her father?s murder. Lucia, Serra?s personal bodyguard and friend who was a former Gloom Walker sniper, the same unit that was commanded by Dessel (Bane) during the New Sith Wars. Bane sought out, found and used the dark side to win the mental battle with Darth Andeddu's holocron?s gatekeeper gaining the knowledge of essence transfer. Darth Bane, the first Banite Sith Master, the creator who masterminded the Rule of Two out of necessity, manipulating realizing his body was no longer able to withstand the immense power of the Dark Side, eventually gave into almost every Sith?s ultimate goal of becoming immortal. Darth Bane, genius, exponentially powerful in the Dark Side, admits that he had learned more from the unkempt Sith library on Korriban (Morriban) then from all the self proclaimed Sith masters at the academy. As far as his education, he freely admits that the 3000+ year old, malfunctioning Darth Revan Holocron, was the knowledge he craved after the realization that between the library, secret tutoring, academy instruction, student rivalries and his final internal battle was needed as much as the teachings from a true Sith Master?s Holocron?s teaching. The initial ?instruction? was so antithetical to truly mastering the Dark Side combined with the true Sith teachings helped him realize that the hypocrisy being taught and accepted by all of the Brotherhood of Darkness, that now he was tapped into the pure, true nature of the Dark Side, he was physically disgusted by the Brotherhood and their followers that he needed to find a solution as the hundreds of Dark Lords, Sith Assassins, acolytes and even the non-force sensitives needed to be destroyed. He was one of the most proficient planners, tapping into the Dark Side after realizing the need to create the Rule of Two, did not ask for direction like a Jedi, instead demanded of the force to obey his plan to destroy all the current Dark Side users, save for himself of course, and in turn would provide a new order of Sith dedicated to purely the Dark Side with no perversions of trying to incorporate Light Side ideals like equality to try,to minimize infighting. While ?communing? with the Dark Side, he proclaimed himself the master who would inherit all the power which had been diluted between so many Sith Masters, students, etc. but until then, he would need to use a combination of 2 extremely risky and dangerous Sith spells and when the Brotherhood was destroyed, the Jedi would claim victory for the Light Side. It was one of, if not the most, intensely dangerous end game gambits, which worked almost perfectly, even placing his eventual successor, a 10 year old extremely powerful girl in his path.
I know that I?ve overdone this post and flipped around from book to book but the stories and themes are so well interwoven that it?s difficult to keep them specific to a book when those weave their way into the next right when you are not looking. There were of course ups and downs that will need tweaking for a series, but I felt totally invested in Bane?s arc, Zannah?s fostering/training and succession (I want Chlo? Grace Moretz, Anya Taylor-Joy, Olivia Holt, Nicola Peltz or Natalie Alyn Lind to play her). The Huntress/Darth Cognus character was also very compelling who still deserves more content (perhaps a spin-off book was planned but the Disney acquisition threw everything off to limbo. Darth Zannah the prodigal daughter of Darth Bane, the new Sith Master and the most powerful sorceress in Sith History training an Iktotchi female assassin who unknowingly used the force to never lose a bounty, a fight or a bet combined with Cognus? species being well known for having extremely limited precognitive abilities to the point of being banned from gambling at every casino in the galaxy but for 99.9% of their species, that?s their limit. The other 0.1% were known to sometimes see possible futures in their dreams and only deep meditative focused training can help bring those jumbled images, sounds, smells, etc into something that makes sense. The rarest Iktotchi make up less than 1/1 billion and might not show for generations, while others hide and the most powerful and born with other gifts such as Force ability are so rare that it?s not even a statistic (once every 1000 year? Once every 5000 years? No one really knows as they are so rare and oftentimes are driven to insanity). Strangely, not all force wielding Iktotchi have precognition powers even though the species with both force ability and precognition are amplified by the other. So an immensely powerful specimen like Darth Cognus might have been born, trained, and kept sane once every 10 thousand years, it?s so rare to be basically unknown and extremely dangerous. Darth Zannah and Darth Cognus pushing the Sith Imperative forward would be a sight to behold.
All of this is addressed in fantastic story detail in the Bane Trilogy with my point being that there is so much to pull from, I believe the most difficult task would be to decide what, who and where to focus after the end of the New Sith Wars. One thing, out of many, that the 2nd and 3rd books do is weave plot-lines introduced in the first book, expanding on them and introducing new characters and stories that end with so many questions (one of which was so controversial that the author, Drew Karpyshyn, was ?persuaded? to give a definitive answer even though he felt as though the ending did tease the question but within the next paragraph, made the outcome clear. From the end of the New Sith Wars until Order 66, fans know there was a thousand years of the Banite Sith in the shadows advancing the imperative and preparation for their revenge against the Jedi and the Republic. So other readers were also asking that names and dates would be released of the Sith Lords that came after Zannah and Cognus but before Tenebrous, Plagueis, Sidious, Maul, Dooku and finally Vader. We didn?t receive much information except for the names of Darth Millennial and Darth Gean with the former being a human mutant and Master to Gean who went insane as he tried to incorporate some Jedi teachings into the Sith doctrine. Apparently he locked himself in his panic room and began destroying an immense collection that was taken from Master to apprentice when a challenge by the apprentice was successful. Apparently the knowledge, connections and the main roadmap of all the comprised people in powerful positions were mostly all lost and set back the Sith 500 years. I?ve heard some sources claim that Millennial was Cognus?s apprentice and to think that if true, it took Bane, Zannah and Cognus let?s be generous and say 100 years of work to see the endgame and have the next apprentice start training to prepare the ultimate plan. Now that?s another story I?d like to see.
