The movie was awesome! 8/10 for me. A lot of nods to comic book fans.
Originally, I was like...I think I'm ok with just having the trinity.
Well I liked it and once again am at a lot to explain the critical hate for this movie. I love the characters so I can enjoy it in spite of some obvious flaws. I don't expect it to get a great score but 60% lower than Thor? Wow. Both should be some where in the 60-70% region I feel.
The Flash and Superman were the highlights for me. I liked all the characters though and hopefully Cyborg gets more love now.
I can forgive the poor villain and sometimes weak CGI because the character interactions are so pleasing but yet again, like BvS, the thing that hurts the movie most is the nonsensical decision to not release the full movie. At least 30 minutes too short and if about 20% of this is Whedon that means a lot of Zack's stuff has been left on the cutting room floor.
I want to see his original 2 hour 40 cut on the blu-ray.
If Whedon directs Batgirl I'm not sure I have any interest if he treats her like Black Widow and Dianna. A good movie that could have been so much more without studio interference.
Can someone who's seen it attest that all these scenes have *really* been cut, or is the guy just making it up? Because if it's true, that's *so much* of the trailer material and really means it's been butchered beyond belief. I was really looking forward to some of those scenes, especially Clark in the field. And Alfred greeting whoever had arrived at the end of that trailer. I can't believe the flash fight and WW's hero landing were cut worthy apparently too. No spoilers, all trailer material only.
Since Snyder stepped out I'm not so sure, but I really hope we get a cut that's 40min+ longer.
All the comments are to the tune of ***** you WB / Whedon
Edit: a cut that's 40min+ with whedons stuff cut out lol

I want a 3.5 hour Director's Edition. With polished CGI and flow originally intended by Zack...Really looking forward to seeing this, this weekend. Even if it's not perfect, it looks likes a fun time. I would almost bet anything that with the Rotten Tomato score what it is though that WB will release another extended cut on DVD and Blu Ray, if for no other reason than damage control. They'll offer up an extended version to try to entice people who are on the fence about purchasing to go ahead and buy it. It's just frustrating that it wasn't released uncut to begin with. Even though I don't think it completely fixed everything, I really feel like if the Ultimate Cut of Batman v Superman had been released in the theater, it would have gotten a considerably more favorable critical reception.

I hope he has the will and time to do this.

Yea. Just a "hope"....I kind of doubt we will get improved CGI on whatever extended cut they might release, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a 3 hours plus cut out there, just based on how things went with Batman v Superman, but of course it's all speculation at this point. I haven't seen the movie yet, to know if I'm going to like whatever Whedon brought to the movie, or if I'll even be able to pick those parts out. I'm usually not as critical of Whedon's writing/direction as some, but I can understand the frustration if when watching the movie it feels very different in tone to MOS or Batman V Superman, or if the tone of the movie seems all over the place within Justice League.
There's no explanation needed. There's always been a subtle JL charm to Cavill's Superman which is sprinkled
much more throughout Mos. It may be more noticeable now that he's finally at peace with his place in the
world (something he embraced at the conclusion of bvs, when he decided to lay down his life for his adopted planet)
and that he has allies/friends like himself. Add to the fact that a rebirth after his brush with death and reuniting with
the woman he wanted to marry would likely make him a more hopeful optimistic that appreciates life.
Saw the movie...
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing bad about the movie...
is its gonna make my wallet cry cause I'm gonna want the rest of the team now!
I watched it last night, don't understand the hate, I loved it too, 9/10 for me. Want the whole league now, plus the two in the post credits scene. Hell yeah!!!!!!
It's bizarre seeing the disparity between the critics and audience score here....even more extreme than other DCEU movies. Audiences seem to be enjoying it for the most part but that critic score will keep some away sadly and pull the box office numbers down.
I might be proven wrong, but I just have a hard time believing this movie is really as clunky and cheap looking and poorly edited as the critics are saying. I know Whedon has had some missteps now and then, but I have a hard time believing he'd let a movie go out in that bad a state.
