Welcome to BBTS folks. They're very sketchy about this sort of thing. I remember when I got Takara Batman from there when they reissued it, I got in on the first day and got the original price, it went up at least like $30 within a couple months simply because demand went up, the thing still hadn't even been released and it was going up in price on an almost weekly basis it seemed.

I haven't had a bad experience as far as getting things from them, but I do find it sketchy when you see these games played. I understand supply and demand, but when most other shops don't do this, it's a big turnoff.

When the MP Starscream was released (Wal-Mart Exclusive), they cleared out all the local Wal-Marts near them and jacked the price up to $80-90 or so. That kind of annoyed me, as it deprived locals of the chance to pick one up, but I don't really blame them for charging as much as they can for an item. They are a business, and their purpose is to make a profit.

There's nothing wrong if they decide to try and sell for high price, it's how they start at one and sometimes within a few weeks keep jacking it up and up.

To be fair to these dudes, they are a business...thats how it works. They're here to make money, not to give us deals. And at least they dont have it for the $350 Usmcrice wants for in the FS forums...

They're free to do what they want, but as far as I've ever seen, they're the only ones in this industry to do things like this, so to me that reflects poorly on them.

At least with other companies, if I have to hold off placing an order or miss the chance to the first week or so, I know I'm still going to get the same price weeks later. If I had to go through BBTS and faced that scenario, I could face paying $30 more than folks a week before me, and like I said, when they're the only ones you see doing it, looks bad.

Really? I've been buying from Toys2 for a couple years now and I've never seen the price go up on a piece while it's still available for order.

My appologies, yeah sorry he usually raises his prices once an item is restocked. For example Superman Returns 2-in-1 was originally priced at $125, then it sold out. Restocked at $159.99 then sold out. Long story short he has it again for now for $229 I think.

I don't know. Many companies shift prices here and there all the time, trying to find the "equilibrium point" between cost and value. They had it listed for a price that was below the "value" that people were willing to pay them for it, so they adjusted. When things go the other way, and they place the value on items as too high and the item doesn't sell, then this is the market sending a signal that they need to adjust their behavior, and items go on clearance. I think its perfectly legitimate.

Ahh, well that I've seen and makes a bit more sense, but when you're selling from the same inventory and start jacking prices up during the sale, it's a bit strange.
