I agree 110%. Manufacturers must think we are the biggest whiners on Earth. This isn't real scan technology. This is an artist spending countless hours trying to capture the best likeness of a character they can. And for their troubles they get to hear complaints that the figure is missing a pimple on its ass. Attention artist from Hot Toys responsible for the head sculpts. You are doing a fantastic job, keep it up.

I think the fact that they went back and added the open mouthed sculpt was because they didn't consider doing a 2nd version. Otherwise they would have just saved it.

Personally I like that it's not a scream - he's giving his motivational speech rather than yelling.

they gonna give us a better, more accurate 'sparta' scream expression, diorama base and the scared helmet for the v2.

This is HT we are talking bout, theres no way that they are not going to make at least 2 version of a popular franchise as these.

True I guess. But most sculpts you can tell who it is. I guarantee if that sculpt was on let's say a plain Military figure most of the people in here saying it's perfect wouldn't be able to recognize it. If people are happy with it as is, that's cool. But to say it's perfect/spot on/etc. is kinda outlandish. It doesn't resemble Leonidas from 300 at all. Has all the elements (beard, haircut) but it's just not close enough.

I'm going to do a little experiment then. I will show the image of the headsculpt to my kids and wife and see if they know who it is. Kids and wife know of the movie 300 but are not fans like I am. Bet they will know who it is though.

Yeah I think this new sculpt is just a quick mod of the first sculpt. They probably weren't planning it but had to because the fans demanded it

Im sure there will be a second version. I really hope they make the other Spartans maybe they could release a 2 pack. 2 heads one body and extra cape, and than release the blank muscle body. people will buy it. If they did that twice we would have 4 Spartans plus Leonidas plus the V2.

Then they can start the Immortals

Seriously, I think people are sometimes excessively nitpicking figures... Just like the HT CHAP Alien or DK Bats... it's just plain ridiculous...

Just for the hell of it. Part one of five of experiment "who the hell is it" completed. Showed 15 year old step-daughter the blown up view of the snarling headsculpt. Made sure no hints were showing for subject to cheat. Interupted subject while she was shoving wheat thins in her mouth. Asked subject "who the hell is this" in between "munch" "munch" and with mouthful of wheaty mush she replied, "that dude from 300". Phase one of experiment a success.
