You must be looking at pics from another movie then because neither of the HT head sculpts look like the Leonidas seen in "300".

imho, even though the 2nd headsculpt is a little off, i'm confident ht will keep working on it. the final result should be better.
and i agree with those who say this is proof that ht does indeed listen to its fans. it doesn't make sense that they'd withhold the pics and info of the 2nd headsculpt til after the pre-order. so they very likely heard fans asking for a "battlecry" expression and then made one. nice.

Its a damn nice looking sculpt but since day one I still can't see Butlers likeness.
I am excited the sculpt shows emotion not simply a 1000 yard stare. I hope HT introduces more emotions in sculpts. I tend to agree with most that the sculpt is pretty decent.
All of you don't understand.
The reason they don't give an accurate "this is sparta" head expression is because they are saving it for the v2, with the extra base diorama.

I think the fact that they went back and added the open mouthed sculpt was because they didn't consider doing a 2nd version. Otherwise they would have just saved it.
Personally I like that it's not a scream - he's giving his motivational speech rather than yelling.

I agree. I think it isn't selling as expected (SS still has available) and the extra sculpt was the v2 they ditched. I am digging an emotional expression for a change regardless the Sparta yell or not.
I want to know if he is going to come with a scarred helmet now. He got the cut on his eye the same time as the helmet. And I really want to display him with a helmet. So either remove the scar or throw in another helmlet!

Ordered, IMO it isn't a perfect likeness, but probably the best we'll ever be offered. the only thing holding me from ordering originally was the plain look just not suiting the fighting Leonidas stance I want to pose it in..... problem is now solved!

You guys are drunk on eggnog, I like how HT threads are now about looking for problems instead of just being happy with what you get. Like you don't now the figure will be stellar. This is ridiculous. He looks awesome and if you ordered it the 2nd head is a bonus. This figure will sell out just like the rest of them.

I'm not looking for problems, ever since the movie came out I've wanted this figure I've even tried sculpting Leonidas a few times (yes they are crap), so I'm pretty familiar with his features. the reason I didn't order earlier was because I really thought this figure needed an animated face to portray the character the way I like and was hoping for Vr2, but now that is no longer required by me. IMO as consumers we have the right to question what we are offered for our $$$, they don't make these for fun they aren't a charity giving these away they make profits

True I guess. But most sculpts you can tell who it is. I guarantee if that sculpt was on let's say a plain Military figure most of the people in here saying it's perfect wouldn't be able to recognize it. If people are happy with it as is, that's cool. But to say it's perfect/spot on/etc. is kinda outlandish. It doesn't resemble Leonidas from 300 at all. Has all the elements (beard, haircut) but it's just not close enough.

If you look back at any Wish list thread about Hot Toys, I always asked for 300, I couldn't believe they hadn't already done it. I mean the entire movie looked like Zack Snyder just playing with a bunch of action figures for 2 hours 
The only thing I dont like is the texture on the cape, it looks like a beach towel. It should be satin or suede fabric or something. Also should be a much deeper red. I understand they wanted it to fold and bunch up around the shoulders but it needs to be 'heavier'. Not thicker but just look like it has more weight to it IDK
Also wish it had a wire in it ,total missed opportunity
