If you prefer a campy Batman maybe. The '60s series is fun but it's not my preference for Batman.

But you're right about this release. I want Returns more than this but I have no problem with this coming out before hand and giving the '60s show hardcores what they've been hoping/waiting for.

Besides, these looks fantastic. And it's a nice change of pace regardless of the amount of interest I have. :)

hot toys 1960's batman, but no Returns batman? wtf?

It was time for the 60s Batman to get it's collectible due. Anything is better than more Nolan Batman stuff.

No, no, no, no, no.

I'm sure Lejuan would even agree that,

Batman Returns Hot Toys > Arkham Hot Toys

Stick Arkhamm up your ***, see if it fits.

Great post!!! Thanks for that!

Arkham Hot Toys seems very redundant considering the amount of designs that are out there that would sell just as well and probably better. Arkham is a lot of very good things, but the character design is very hit or miss. Bane is just awful, Killer Croc a bit over the top, a lot of the other ones are very comic oriented. No reason for Arkham figures imo. Returns characters would have so much more presence and worthiness imo.

Yup, agreed completely.

Besides, other companies are handling all the designs, good and bad, very well. The selection of heroes and villains in collectible figure form is really impressive, especially from DCD. Nothing Hot Toys could match or contend with.

You know what will be Awesome!!! If Hot Toys were to give us...Adam West and Burt Ward heads along with these figures as an exclusive. That will really blow me away. :yess:

Word. I love those first two Nolan movies as much as anyone but if I see another Bale Batman I may barf. So much in fact that if Hot Toys came out with a 100% accurate BB/TDK Batman that looked like Bale in the flesh it would still feel lackluster.

I'm so ready for a new incarnation of Batman.

I actually like a lot of the designs they have for the villains. You're right about the redundancy though. There's other cool Arkham figures out there. Sure, lets see what HT brings but I don't see a reason for it to take precedence over things like Returns.

I would, but they haven't shipped, yet.:lol Seriously, though, I just genuinely feel that Returns is inferior to all of those listed. I know it's an opinion, but, purely from my own, selfish perspective, if I had to pick Arkham over Returns; two licenses that were announced at pretty much the same time, I absolutely would. This is just my own opinion, I'm not broadcasting it as fact, or anything like that, but I feel that Burton's first outing was a superior Batman film, Arkham is a far more faithful take on the character than Returns ever was (don't judge it just because it's part of a different medium), the Nolan films were more enjoyable, to me, and the 60's Batman show, on top of all of the nostalgia it brings back, is actually pretty accurate to silver age comics.

At the end of the day, I like Returns more than the Schumacher stuff, but it's got way more of a "Burton" flavor than a Batman flavor, and it just winds up being too ****ing weird. From a technical standpoint, I really want to see what they do with a Devito Penguin or a Pfeiffer Catwoman, but, outside of the actual Batman from that line, it's really curiosity that makes me want to see it more than anything. Like I said, I just found the Arkham games to be better interpretations. That's just my opinion.

And you call yourself a Batfan. Son, I'm disappointed.

Actually, the world of Arkham is pretty damn weird in it's own right (Titan anyone? Diseased Joker?). Maybe just as bizarre as some of the **** in Batman Returns.

Disgusting, sewer freak, Returns Penguin > Disgusting, English, throat cancer Arkham Penguin

Wintery, Christmas time Returns setting > Wintery, Christmas Arkham setting

Film > Childish video game with lame boss fights (except Mr. Freeze)

Batman Returns Armor > Arkham weirdly proportioned head, body and forearm gauntlets (that gives Liefeld a run for his money)

And the 60s Batman stuff is waaaaaaaaay more interesting than the boring, Arkham crap. I'm glad it's currently in the spotlight.

Adam West Batman > Video Game Batman

Burt Ward Robin > Emo, hooded guy that shows up for 5 seconds

'66 Batmobile > Mini Batmobile that the character model couldn't even fit into

I never said anything about the 60's Batman being worse than Arkham, I said the 60's Batman was better than Returns.:lol Frankly, I'm happy that we got to see West and Ward before either of these. I thought we were in for a long wait.

That's the thing, though. Titan and diseased Joker were concepts that were built off of actual comic book lore (venom, anyone?). Cockney Penguin is way better than sewer freak Penguin, in my opinion. When you strip away some aesthetics, such as the bottle, you've got an interpretation that is accurate to what's portrayed in the comics; a nightclub owner/gun runner who walks around in a penguin suit.

I hardly see how that second part is even relevant. The Christmas setting is in Arkham Origins, a game that hasn't even been released, yet. I'm talking, mainly, about Arkham City, and, to some degree, Asylum.

Film is better than "childish" video games? I'm ashamed, right now, DiFabio, I really am. That you would let your personal tastes give you that much of a shortsighted perspective. I really hope that you're being facetious, otherwise, I am disappoint.

As for Batman's design, I'd beg to differ. I don't see the proportions being that weird:

He strikes me as a big guy, but, as far as suits go, you pretty much just said that Returns Batman is better than comic Batman. I'm going to have to disagree with you there, and Liefeld, really? Damn, man, I think you're letting your emotions get the better of you.:lol

I actually like the Arkham suits, and would love to see these finally be made by HT.

i want a batsuit that protects from small arms and weapons, not something that looks like its from PartyCity

Look at dat ill-proportioned body with dat, small, weird sized micro head, those short midget arms, those HUGE forearms, dem biceps that are bigger than his noggin.

Nice generic, idealized, superhero body Batman. I can't wait to see Hot Toys crash and burn with your weird *** true type body (if they even attempt to make that abomination accurate).
