$#!+ There IS a noticeable color difference, AoU Hulk is darker, with more brown undertones. Action figure collector in me feels a certain "perversion" so to speak, getting the DX set w/smash torso being that it has 0 articulation. Uuuuughhh....

I can't wait to hear how this is addressed in the movie. Change in his diet? :lol

haha :joy
I really don't mind the color change(partly because I don't own the first Hulk figure), but I guess they tried to make him more realistic looking(in terms of looking more like Hulk out Ruffalo) and I'm okay with that

He would change color in the comics, sometimes it depending on the artist, and sometimes he would be grey (although not often willingly), maybe it has to do with the source or intensity of his anger. OR like Brain said they just felt more of an olive hue would be more realistic. Of course there is always the marketing factor, no character has looked the same in any two movies yet, why should hulk be any different? (the only exception so far would be Mark VI between IM2 and Avengers, but VII was new)

I know it's a long shot, but i'm still hoping he does go savage grey in the movie. I could care less that his grey color in the comics made him Mr. Fixit. I never really cared for that version of him anyway.

I disagree with the whole 'they're selling us a statue thing'.

If you were just getting the smash torso in the box then yes I'd agree but you're not.

What you're getting is a fully articulated action figure that, because of the limitations of action figure physics won't realistically achieve the smash pose. Because of this, in the deluxe kit you also get a second torso that has been beautifully crafted into said pose.

There's nothing stopping you from switching back to the other torso when you feel like a change. This very feature surely means this can never be classed as a statue.

'Rant over'

Face it!!! You're going to put this in a cabinet and look at--statue!!! There has to be some company out there that will make a 1/6 articulated hulk!!!

Ha ha, I was waiting for someone to say that. At the end of the day, none of us actually play with them in the old G I Joe action figure sense, so really they're all statues!

Peeps are going to want to buy a parted out pair of AoU Hulk legs for an extra Hulk. Which I'm guessing is going to be ridiculously rare, or ridiculously priced.

I would have liked to buy a set consisting only of these parts:

Because I don't think I'd use the poseable torso, or screaming sculpt as much. I guess I could sell the screaming sculpt, but who'd want to buy a poseable torso without legs?

Because I don't like the screaming head sculpt at all, I'd have no choice but to buy the deluxe version, or just get the angry sculpt itself online if interchangeable, which I assume it would be.

I don't throw mine across the room, but a statue they are not. Would you not want a hulk that could do the iconic double hand clap, or take a knee--oh, I got it! How about an upper torso in a clapping position, then lower body kneeling... how about a statue in each pose. It gets ridiculous fast!!!

Grey Hulk you say?

I actually kinda like the way the grey one looks... But I never want Banner turning red... It's Ross or nothing.

Shhh! Don't be giving Hot Toys ideas for more 'statues' :wink1:

I move the figures on my desk around all day...

They already have the idea, and they will make it when you guys buy this one. Then they'll make the one reading the news paper, and then one eating a large drumstick, and then one picking his nose, and then one sleeping on his back--why, because you guys didn't demand more!!!
