Cat: "You've had wayyyy too much catnip if you're buying that"

If his lips were not so pink and he was not cross eyed.. That would be a pretty decent figure!

Both issues you talk about can easily be fixed. Put in a little work and it goes a long way. I saw one painted up on another board and it looks just as good as the real.

Screw it. I know I have much more actual things in my life to care about without worrying myself with taking moral stands on the evils of counterfeit toys. Bought one of those boys for $40. Score!

Agreed 1000% plus if the hobby has driven out most of its followers, what do they expect to happen??

Doesn't mean they drove out the rich ones. There's plenty of us poor peasants that have been long forgotten.

Yea it's hot toys fault you can't afford it. They should just give it away and hope marvel and DC and WB and Sony forget to bill them, and the employees work for free, and the other bills disappear..and they spent (Howard chan for example) their life savings on a company that gives product away.

Heck, ford and apple and Cheesecake Factory need to give it away free too.

Hot toys has ALWAYS been the top end of the figure market. 15 years ago their entry level (kyle Reese) was 160ish. Now the entry figures are 200ish. The min wage in Hong Kong then? There wasn't one. Now there is. The average cost of a package to ship? 5 bucks. Now it's 11(for hot toys size boxes). Oil was 30 bucks a barrel. Now 100. Entry level SUV. 18,500. Now, 25,000. USA min wage? 6 bucks/hr. Now it's nearly 8.

The cost increase in hot toys base products is in line with standard inflation.

If it's to expensive then collect other licensed products. Lots of others out there. But to say crap like because hot toys is expensive that justifies counterfeit...that's crap.

Finally something we can agree on.

Like my brother always tells me "I love your Hot Toys collection...but I'll never start my own. Can't handle the prices."

If you can't afford HT, don't buy HT. And don't blame HT for you not being able to afford HT.

:goodpost:

Well said Motuxmen - I agree 100%

For me there's simply no justification for these crap counterfeit goods.

There's a reason why companies like NECA and Hasbro, etc. get the same licenses, the owners know not everyone can afford certain price levels so they saturate the market with options.

Would I love and HT Hulk, sure, am I content enough with my Hasbro if I can't get one, yes.
