Figures are no different than anything else, the company sets out to sell their product at the price they feel is justified by what goes into it and what the market will pay. I'm sure a lot of people would love to drive a Ferrari but can't afford it so they drive a Honda Civic they can afford.
I'm not against people buying bootlegged stuff, I'm sure everyone of us has downloaded an illegal song or watched a streamed movie or something of that sort, but let's be honest with ourselves, the people sourcing these things are in no way justified by the practices. Someone posting a whole movie from the theater isn't entitled to do so, the studio made the film and has the rights to how it's distributed, etc. Hot Toys puts the effort to make the figures, no one but them has right to release their work.
Again, if you want to buy bootlegs, go ahead, I could care less, again, it's acknowledging what's wrong in the act of doing so and such item being made in the first place.
