I'm now thinking HT WILL include the flightsuits, probably with cardbacking in the clear trays. Something like they did with Aliens.

Why? Clothes are cheap for them to make, especially these outfits and if the bodies are removeable I don't see why not.

Damn this is good news!

The suits look fantastic, everything one could hope for!
I do worry a bit though that they're not showing the headsculpts... if they had the licenses for the actors, I would think they'd show them off.

It would suck royally if they didn't have likeness rights.

Let's wait and see. In any case, this is excellent news! Can't wait to see more pics and the next announcement.

Dammit...I was hoping to perhaps skip this line as I wasn't a big fan of the ALIEN characters (with Kane, Ripley, and of course...the Xenomorph itself) in the first place...but they might be dragging me in with having them in their spacesuits.

Damn you Hot Toys.... :monkey2

Those stands are modified Alien Egg sets that came with the AvP Series 2 Snap-Kit figures...

If you look close, it doesn't even look like those headsculpts are painted yet inside the helmets. Between the eggs and the headsculpts, it looks like they still have a ways to go to finish things up. But this is a great start.

I hope official proto pics come soon!

Ya know, I'll be dissapointed if the actual Alien is just an all plastic snap together kit. Because then, it'll be like you are paying almost three times the price of the 18" NECA one, for a smaller version.

I really hope Hot Toys will build the figure around a large, fully-articulated standard body, and place it inside a rubber suit, just like the actor in the film.

Well, the other Hot Toys aliens are partially in rubber suits to begin with, so it's not just the same as something that NECA might produce. But I don't know if it would work to just have a human body in a rubber alien suit, if that's what you're suggesting.

Really? I don't actually own a HT Alien, but in pics, they just look like standard snap together kits. I'm waiting to save my dough on the original Giger characater.

I only have the Aliens alien, but his torso is entirely encased in rubber, as are his knee joints. And the tail is rubber with a wire in it. His limbs are basically hard plastic though.

That's why you don't know. :monkey1 :D

The torso has an armature inside designed specifically just for the Alien body style because they are somewhat skeletal. As icruise mentioned, the arms and legs are solid plastic with some rubber along the joints hiding the joint articulation.

It would not work to have a rubber suit over a human body because the ALIEN is skeletal, much like the original actor who portrayed it in the movie was a tall, skinny African (I forgot his name). It's ridiculous to even do it considering it would probably hamper the articulation in the first place and probably look silly as well....trust me on this one.

I suppose if the figure you want is "A guy in an ALIEN suit" as opposed to "The ALIEN" itself then you could be happy.

If HT has John Hurt's likeness rights,i will get the spacesuit Kane. The man is known for this scene as well as his chestbursting scene.I will wait for HT to do a jumpsuited Dallas though.I'm kinda gutted they didn't do Ash...yet.Hopefully the newsletter this week will give us better pics, but if they do not have the likeness rights,I won't get any of them...it'll be just Dutch and The P1 Predator for me.

Well I'm more than happy with my "guy in the Creature from the Black Lagoon suit" Sideshow gave us! It was film accurate and it looked great. Same with the Metaluna Mutant (though I don't own that one.)

I just want film accuracy. If they actually filmed a real Xenomorph on the set, then hell yeah HT, make it as acurate as possible. But instead, they used a tall man in a suit, and I think it looks unique compared to the animatronic/CGI created aliens in the later films.

Do you want film accuracy or on-set accuracy? Because the Xenomorph didn't look much like a guy in a suit on film, regardless of what he actually was on the set. And as been pointed out with the Aliens aliens, the color that they actually were (brown) looks nothing like how they appeared on screen (blackish blue). I personally want things to look how they appeared on screen, or (to take things one step further) how I remember they looked.

Wow, great news... I missed that they had shown some figures, and I have to say the suits look awesome! I hope that you get the option to display w/ or w/o the suit though.

And Kane needs to come with the face hugger damaged helmet, that would be a must!

And $125 is not a bad MSRP for these at all, and will probably stay around that when Sideshow imports them for us.

To be fair, we didn't see that many clear, full-body shots of the Alien in the actual film. If we did, they only lasted a couple of seconds.

Precisely. That's why I'm saying that a figure based on what we think we saw in those quick glimpses might be better than one that is 100% accurate to what the guy in the costume looked like.

i agree a 100%. im not paying $125+ for a ****ing alien that looks like a man in a suit!!:lol i dont mind if Ht get a little creative.. in fact i hope they do. note i said a little:lol

I don't understand why this looks so bad to everybody. It looks a hell of alot more believable than the creatures in the sequels. If Hot Toys can shrink that ALIEN down to 1/6th the scale, I'll be happy. I thought a figure in a suit would be accurate to how it was done in real life. I don't know why everyone wants it to be all stylized.

The Alien costume looks just as good as it does in the movie. It's THE Alien. All the others are just imitators. ;)

Just take a look at NECA's. If it turns out like that, we're gold.

I figured we'd get them in the suits. So damn cool!
