The Alien costume looks just as good as it does in the movie. It's THE Alien. All the others are just imitators. ;)

Just take a look at NECA's. If it turns out like that, we're gold.

I figured we'd get them in the suits. So damn cool!

Thank you!

Yeah, the eggs are too small. But maybe they don't have the proper eggs finished yet so they just used the snap-kits to show what will come with the figures.

I'd go for that, but the fact they tooled an end to be the the open aperture egg for Kane isn't a hopefull fact. If they were both closed, I might agree, but it worries me that they did make the effort to make an open one. Time will tell. I sure hope size and style are met, but with molds already made for eggs, it wouldn't surprise me if they recycled the egg design and put the effort into the figure itself.

I thought they did have a version that was open? If not, maybe this is from the new ALIEN snap-kits.

Just so we're clear, I'm pretty sure the "suits" he was referring to were the spacesuits on the human figures. I have nothing against the design of the original Alien, but I maintain that you can't literally take a 1/6th scale human figure, put him in a rubber alien suit, and expect that to look good.

I agree NECA has done an excellent job. But when HT will release their version. I have to buy 2. One to keep MIB, & the other to display & make my wife roll her eyes @ me...:chew

I think w/each product HT releases, they will improve the quality of their products. That's what I think. But I'm just a novice. :D

I agree with you there, I think if they tried this it would probably result in a figure with a suit that is too bulky. Also, if they were going to replicate the guy in the suit (who had a very unique body) then why not go with the easier plan and design the Alien body (being as screen accurate as possible) and then go from there.

I have a feeling that HT is going to blow us away with this figure, just my prediction :rock

No, you're absolutely right. :rock

Although that's not to say they don't run into a few potholes now and then (Aliens Warrior weak joints, Robocop 3's helmet defects).

Anyway, I'm only getting Kane, and Ripley if we get her. Dallas does nothing for me as a character, and getting all three characters in their moebius suits is prohibitively expensive, so no thanks.

I know, I was refering to this quote:

As I said before, It worked for the Creature and the Metaluna Mutant.

The "guy in a suit" look is what NECA went for, meaning Kyle sculpted it to be as accurate as possible.
I hope that HT will give us a (as much as possible) film accurate figure and not go all "artistic interpretative" on us. I would ****ing go insane with rage and despair.
Seriously.
What's the point in making accurate human characters and suits and uniforms if you're going to ignore accuracy in the most important character of the whole franchise?

EDIT: Just so we know what accuracy means:

Ya, it was one thing to be interpretive with the ALIENS warrior, though there is no logistical reason for what they did that I could see, none of the issues were relative to function areas. Regardless, the final figure was evil and badass looking and allowed you too look past the innaccuracies, but the power of the ALIEN is it's design, not a persona or anything, just hte appearance of it, so if they ignore that, then it'll be like why bother making it.

If you look close, it doesn't even look like those headsculpts are painted yet inside the helmets. Between the eggs and the headsculpts, it looks like they still have a ways to go to finish things up. But this is a great start.

I hope official proto pics come soon!

You're right, I was checking them out again, and I noticed what looks like unpainted hair on the Dallas figure.
Which means they're not wearing the caps they wore with the suits.
Interesting.

Those heads look painted with caps on them. You can tell in the full body shot. The cap is whitish and the faces have a peach color.

If they did, it would have had to be with AVP kits, the ALIENS ones were all closed, I saw a whole case on eBay once.

I have an Alien Queen snap that came with an open egg. The top half came off, but rather than a straight join, that you see in these latest pics, it had a wavy join. The two halves would only match up if you had it in the right position. Maybe that case you saw on ebay was a case of solely closed eggs.

Although, those are suits that I think lend better to having a regular base-body underneath. And while the Creature is a great figure, the body does have a bit of a soft/odd look to in on the shelf. That was corrected with the Metaluna by using a more rigid rubber... but there is almost no articulation because of it.

Hot Toys has so far been able to create very realistic and highly poseable Aliens, my guess is they will continue to make them exactly the same way and that the figures will continue to kick major ass :rock

I just want film accuracy. If they actually filmed a real Xenomorph on the set, then hell yeah HT, make it as acurate as possible. But instead, they used a tall man in a suit, and I think it looks unique compared to the animatronic/CGI created aliens in the later films.

I don't disagree that the NECA looks fine and if HT gives us something like that it would be fine. What I've been conveying to you is that Hot Toys will NOT use the TrueType body style INSIDE an ALIEN rubber suit. They can make an ALIEN figure that looks just like the Xenomorph without the use of putting a human body style inside of it which in fact would DO WORST to the figure than what they are currently doing with the AVP/ALIENS Xenomorphs... look at some of the other "rubber-suit" figures like HT's Batman...it hampers the articulation and overall would look "bulky".

I'm not trying to come off as a jerk...just trying to explain to you why it's unlikely you'll see what you're explaining.

Do you own any Hot Toys figures? I know you said you don't have the ALIENS one but do you even have the AVP Alien?

I understand, but it's still something they could experiment with. Anyway, I do own the Hot Toys Jor-El and Clark Kent, but not any actual alien figures.

I think we all need to look at the fact of how lucky we are to be getting these figures. Companys have always been scared to do this but due to hot toys success with the aliens line they went for it!. :rock
If your into this type of stuff be happy man this rocks !!! :rock
And I cannot wait for the alien , I think its gonna be awesome !!.
