Bit worried about the quality of these PVC Suits after the Appleseed problems Posted online. The Official description doesnt list a likeness of John Hurt or Tom Skerritt for the head sculpts, Which is also a little disapointing. A lack of actors likeness could hurt this line.

I'm pretty disappointed that the suits aren't fabric. They've done some pretty amazing things in fabric before, so it didn't seem unrealistic to think that they could pull this off. And if they don't have the likeness rights, this line is going to go downhill quick. That facehugger head looks amazing, though. So is that a separate figure or a head that comes with Kane?

Anyone have any idea when these will be available for order? Will Sideshow presumably be distributing them in the US?

I just pre-ordered a Kane, costing me $155 with shipping.

Apparently its accessories can be taken off. What does that mean?
- gloved hands
- Back pack
- Shoulder pads
- Breastplate
- Searchlight
- Shotgun with sheath
- Extra bonus: faced huggered head & damaged helmet
- Helmet featured with clear and movable shield. What does that mean?

One can only guess. As far as the head, I reckon it means you can swap over helmets/ heads, not necessarily that the helmets can be taken off.

After this last fiasco with ABC and the HT Wolf/Predalien pre-orders, I'm just going to wait for the SS pre-order.

And it sure looks like they're hiding the faces for now, but I love the detail in the helmet.

Anyone else notice that the head cover in this pic is FABRIC!!

And, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Hot Toys...NO SEAM DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLASTIC VISOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skipping the fabric is probably what's keeping the cost down on these. The melted faceplate is really all I care about, no worries about an accurate portrait there. Sounds like there will be two helmeted portraits and one figure... presumably the special edition we were discussing earlier. I wonder how much articulation there will be with the suits being made of PVC, but with figures like this, articulation probably won't matter so much.

That is pretty lame. Giger's were the best design and they wouldn't go wrong using that design for all of 'em imo. Could there be some kind licensing snafu? Those eggs in the pics just don't look anywhere near as creepy and "alien" as the originals. :monkey4

I doubt it's a licensing snafu, I'm sure it boils down to the fact they already have molds from the snap kits and it's a piece of cake to recycle that. Granted, Hot Toys is one of the most innovative 1/6 figure makers out there, but they do have their moments where their corporate decisions ruin the experience for the collector, like the variants and recycling etc. I'd say maybe they just threw in these eggs for proto filler, but the open one is pretty detailed inside. Time will tell.

Wow, nice announcement to wake up to. I agree, I'd have rather seen a more screen accurate egg, but on the other hand, at least we're getting a diorama-type base versus just a stand. Nothing a re-paint can't fix (well, aside from the smaller size).

Does the helmet light illuminate in addition to backpack lights? I may have missed this in the previous posts.

Yes, I think the specs said the helmet does light up inside - I wish HT did this lights-thing with the USCM's lamps too.

You know, I should have known better than to start into 1/6 scale with that AVP alien way back when...then I had to have the predators, then I had to have some military figs, then I had to have an endoskeleton, now ALIEN and Alien3, not to mention Indiana Jones from sideshow...God forbid Hot Toys or SS gets the Bladerunner license, Road Warrior...plastic crack indeed!

I haven't read anything confirming or denying lights in the helmet, but it sure looks like that function is in there.
