Hot Toys requested that threads for these unlicensed figures are closed? I wonder was that a general request or did they particularly have SSF in mind?

Really? ............ That's super lame of them.

Not cool Hot Toys. Sure, it was an unlicensed headsculpt but at least someone made an effort to appease consumer demands. It's not like the unlicensed products were announced a month or two after your Batman Returns reveal. What's it been? 2 years? I lost track.

OF course I do not condone the support and purchase of unlicensed merchandise but how about you close their sales while showing us something? Now that would win us over.

Hopefully this is indication that Batman Returns is in development and they're giving us this.

Precisely. If they have time to contact Dave and ask him to close a thread, then they should spare a few more moments, to actually update us on the status of their own figure. But nooo... they like to sit on their licenses for years, and do nothing with them.

I'm surprised that other thread was closed. Who actually has the power to close it down? Michael Keaton's rep? I don't think he has that power since you can't say for sure that's based on Michael Keaton. Hot Toys? Same thing, they don't have an argument there.

This gets me a little excited though. This prob doesn't mean anything but if something does pop up from hot toys soon, I may just have a heartattack... Lol but seriously, if this is just hot toys being greedy, I'm gnna be highly upset

TBH nothing but good can come out of this. I have always been a fan of the Returns suit more than the original one (hopefully that didn't make too many people cringe).

I'm plain and simple looking forward to all 1/6 mechandise they put out with this license.

-Catwoman
-Penguin
-Returns suit Batman
-Bruce Wayne
-Michael Golf Alfred?

Even though I love Walken I can easily pass on Max Shrek :rotfl

Even though I can understand why some people are upset about the threads being closed I can kind of understand Hot Toys perspective on this too. After all they're the ones actually paying the license holders to obtain the rights to making these figures. Sure it's been a while and I get that people are impatient (rightfully so) but they're protecting themselves. They don't want other companies making unlicensed versions of figures and having that cut into their sales. Hopefully this means that Hot Toys has plans to release the Batman Returns figures, as well as Ra's al Ghul and Lucius Fox.

The one positive of this delay is that there is always a horizon. As it stands 2014 has me down for only one HT (Elder Predator). As a collector you are always looking forward to the next purchase. When there is none your never satisfied with "OK I'm done. There is nothing left to collect"!!

I chose to get the DX-12 over the Keaton Batman, because i saw HT had the Returns license as well. The Returns suit was always my favorite. But now with them rereleasing the DX12 with the armory, and this nowhere to be seen, I wish I had made the opposite choice. I want my Keaton Batman!

This is pure speculation, but I have a feeling one of the reasons for the Batman Returns not getting produced could have something to do with obtaining the likeness for Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman. I was talking to someone who is working on a line of upcoming official 1/6 scale maquettes of the 60s' Batman show. When I asked about the possibility of doing Batman '89 or BTAS he told me that WB flat said "No" to a Pfeiffer Catwoman.
