The typical clothing and decorations of Preds ressemble that of those ancient warriors.

Looking at the prototype pics again, it seems like the elbow joints (at least the left one) looks like a ball joint, rather than a ball-and-pin. At the very least, despite my lack of interest in this guy, it'll be interesting to see how HT handles it in production. What the poseability will be like, the paint quality, etc. At $360 for a non-film Predator, they'd be smart to go for greatness. I'm eager to see in-hand pics, that's for sure.

Hey man, I apologize for this, but it's trolls that ruin threads. Many have already said that they like it, others said that they have not.

We, that like it, keep discussing things about the figure. The rest that said they did not like said it once and left, but the Larja thing keeps coming talking crap about the figure. Once or twice is fine, but man, all the negative things about the figure he/she posts are getting annoying. That is considered trolling I believe.

The reasonable person would just stay away from things they don't like.

Sorry again, let's just go back to discussing the figure.

Can't see where it says this thread is dedicated to praising this figure and nothing else. As much as those that like this figure can discuss it's merits, why can't those that don't like it discuss their perceived negatives?

I own HT Chopper, Celtic, Scar, AVP Elder, Original P2, P2 Elder, Lost Predator, Wolf, P1, Machiko, Beserker, Falconer, Tracker, all three AVP Alien variants, Dog alien and Royce. I don't consider myself a fanboy as such, but I'm comfortable with the familiarity of all of the HT Pred releases. And maybe that's the problem for me, because I hate this figure with a vengeance!

It has the capacity to make me lose the ablility to articulate. It's all wrong, colour, design, aesthetic it's a total departure from the accepted Pred look. Now a lot of people are loving that fact, and I can understand why as it is in it's own right an amazing piece of work and as a fantasy creature it is brilliant. But a Predator, especially a HT Predator? I can't reconcile it with what has gone before.

To me it's almost on a par with what I felt when I saw Lucas had replaced Sebastian Shaw's Anakin force spirit at the end of Jedi with the one of Hayden Christiansen.

Phew!! Rant over, having said that, if you like it and are getting it I hope it's absolutely amazing and I'm just being a conservative old git who's afraid of change lol.

Awesome! Almost makes me want to buy a Hot Toys Predator figure after selling all of mine!

I've seen a lot of this artist's statues and they are some incredible pieces of work. I'm a little surprised that 20th Century Fox and Hot Toys managed to wrangle this one together but it is an amazing piece of creativity and work.

Naturally, I like to see that Hot Toys is bringing some of the "Expanded Universe" Predators to us, however I am with a lot of you on that price! Really? $360???? The production model should be absolute perfection for that price point! I don't really think it warrants that. Though I'm sure it's a combination of Fox, the artist, the sculptor and Hot Toys all taking their royalties out of it.

I almost want it to secretly bomb so that HT realizes that the price point was the wrong way to go.

But its what it is I guess...given that most comic / movie characters eventually change in some way, even if only one person is the "authoritative" say in how it changes. I don't see that much hate towards all the kitbash, custom predators on this board, nor towards all the Narin-like model kit predators. I suppose those should all get banned because they are depatures from the "accepted" Pred look.

Seems to me that behind all the "accuracy", "design", "concept" hate towards this predator is the simple reality that some people hate that they want it but don't want it enough (literally). And of course there are a lot of people who simply just don't like it or only want to collect movie predators and flat out admit it, rather than try to explain it away with a bunch of strange excuses.

I mean, this is like a hardcore batman fan here being mad that the porn industry made porn parodies of batman and etc. Funny, but I don't think anyone here is really that mad. They are at most, simply not-interested. How is this "fantasy-realm" predator any worse?

Like I said, the only thing really offensive to me is the price, but unfortunate for many of us, Hot Toys will do ok in sales and keep increasing their prices.

I wish it bombs. Really.
Not because I hate it. I don't hate it, I don't like it either. If anything, I'm 'nothing' it.
But it sure does open an even wider door in terms of HT ripping us a new one with their constantly rising prices. The way things are going now, the next 'regular' licensed release will be $299, a price tag used to be recognized with PF and LSB.
So yeah, I wish it a total and complete failure.
