Re: Hot Toys Assassin's Creed II....

I still wouldn't say he's "missing" it, that pic also shows other parts that aren't on HT figure. It's simply not present in the design they went with.

This is the best looking figures so far.

Ezio in the game has many armor parts or some adds that are not represented on the HT figure...this is totally logical and understandable , because this HT representation is the "Basic Outfit", However that litle notch on the left side of the belt that works as a scabbard (not real scabbard) should be in this basic outfit .. besides, looks ridiculous and ilogical if he only could carry the sword in his hand ?? :dunno

Like I said before, that piece (fake scabbard) should be in the figure, as a detachable part if you want.. but definitely it is a basic and necessary piece for Ezio,s Otfit

The figure is based of this look, so no scabbard
However it does include that little red bag, so maybe if people want a scabbard, Hot Toys might include one.

Done a quick comparison between the game version and the figure.

Its kinda stupid to base the whole fig from this picture ..theres a whole game 2 base the figure on.

No dude.. this is not a red pouch :lol... is the ponytail. ..( I thougt the same at first :rotfl)

For example: when you get the outfit in the game you get a sword too, and of course he carries the sword in that fake scabbard...
The point is that : If you want to pose him like that in your shelf, Ezio wil look incomplete if he can not carry the sword or knife and you,ll have to leave them on the stand ( ??).... unless you put both swords on his hands in other pose.

Edit;In that work-art: ........Ezio has not the Daggers and has 2 necklaces)..??

That side by side picture really shows me how off the red sash behind his "belt" is....I hope that gets sorted out as it's kinda big focal point on him.

Also I saw somewhere this was going to be in the $180, can anyone confirm this? It seems a bit high. Compared to the amount of extras with something like Mech Test, or T-1000, this one just doesn't seem like it comes with enough to warrant that price.

Just minor gripes I guess, still pre-ordering this as soon as it pops up :lol

Re: Hot Toys Assassin's Creed II....

You can't judge the proto too much because this figure will require A LOT of futzing to get perfect. There are just too many cloth/leather layers to expect too much straight from the box or posed by someone who doesn't know the game well.

Yeah I was hoping that we could alternate to the Black Costume.
I have a feeling that a Black version of this might be coming out not long after. Much like the different Resident Evil Versions.
I just get the feeling they have held a lot back on purpose

Re: Hot Toys Assassin's Creed II....

This is a seriously awesome looking figure. I do not play that many video games so the character has no hold on me.

Not sure I should be buying a figure I have no connection to but it's hard to resist such well made stuff.

If I can get him I will, but only if it's feasible at the time of release.

Re: Hot Toys Assassin's Creed II....

Really cool looing figure. My critizisms are that the hood looks a little too thick, that's about it. I'm guessing theres a wire in it to pose it which I would say isn't needed if they just got the thickness right.

Another nitpick is that the face looks a little too realistic compared to the game but It's alright. However, this worries me. If HT do indeed get a Metal Gear Solid license and make a MSG1 Snake they'll make it look too real. I guess they'll make it after that piece of ____ remake Twin Snakes. How to ruin a great story? Add cliche cut scenes and over the top voice acting. (rant over)

Re: Hot Toys Assassin's Creed II....

Neutral face is always safest. Look how people complained about MJ Thriller's updated smile.

Re: Hot Toys Assassin's Creed II....

Is out Q3 fast than I though.

Re: Hot Toys Assassin's Creed II....

I think Ezio looks like one of the best Hot Toys figures to date, made all the more impressive due to the complexities of executing such an intricate costume. I'm very much looking forward to seeing if we will get a couple more Ezios down the line with different coloured outfits, different expressions and upgraded armour and weaponry.
The hood was always going to be a contentious issue as it's a very distinct part of the character. Personally I think the hood looks excellent, it never looked like it was made of a "thin" material in the game as it always seemed to have the weight to stay in place whilst fighting and free-running.

Re: Hot Toys Assassin's Creed II....

Looks great so far. Compared next to the computer rendering he does look a little bulky. But the detail on those clothes is outstanding. What a feat.
