I think they can make both regular and "banshee riding" versions in one figure. They'll just have to include an extra head for Jack and some more accessories for both figures.

IMO it's the best way to go.

As for the "final battle" versions, they'll have to do new figures because of the war paints on the bodies.

PS: I really hope Hot Toys will be able to make those figures with full hidden joints. As thrilled as I am to see what they can do and buy what they'll produce under the Avatar license, visible joints can be a reason for me to pass on these.

Well, it's usually several months between proto pics and in-hand pics. I would be amazed if anything is released before July and would probably more reasonably expect August, especially given the development of new bodies that have the extended arms/legs.

im thinking blue rubber over a new body type, like chris redfields figure. That way no joints can be shown. and does anybody get the feeling hot toys has been quiet for awhile ,methinks thier about to annouce somthing big lol.

This is the best HW movie in a long time! I loved it form start to end and Sigourney and Sam were amazing in it. 3D rocks! I can't wait for the next movie.

I am pumped for these figures but I am trying to figure out how HT's will pull them off. The combination of size and the paint jobs will be complex especially for the Nav'i during the final battle. The hair will be tough too be because of the length of their pony tails. Does anyone else have any concerns?

I don't really have concerns about that. I think HT knows what they are doing and will handle this line excellent as always!

I only hope they don't let us wait as long as they are doing with Inglourious Basterds to show us some pics!

Yea how are they gonna do the hair, and unlike inglorious avatar is popular among everybody i think thier working on them right now, but i was kinda hoping that they wont keep us waiting like thier doing inglorious becuase i want figures now. Seriously !

Well Hot Toys is a Hong Kong based company more concerned with the entire Asian market than just Japanese but don't worry I hear its doing well there as well

I speculated in the Inglorious Basterds thread that product info is probably going to be timed with Toy Fair (Feb 14-17) or the Academy Awards Nominations (February 2). For Avatar, an announcement could also be timed with when Avatar passes Titanic, which is becoming more likely.

I know exactly how I'm posing my future HT Avatar figure.
Gettin' Neytiri, modding the stand (possibly making another one or two), and putting her in a sideways mid-air dive pose, bow-and-arrow at the ready.
Oh, yeeeaaaaaahhhhhhh........ I am so pumped.

Let's not forget the thing's gotta be at least 17" tall, if not even taller. Heh, she'd probably even dwarf the HT Predalien (which was 18" tall)! Hot toys is known for scaling their stuff nicely. At least, that's what I've seen.
