i'm hoping that i'm totally wrong and i'll like it. but i've seen Cameron stuff before and i'm expecting it to be somewhere in between Abyss-boring and T2-goofy.
i can explain the plot in 3 words - Dances With Wolves. the whole movie is a big patchwork of recycled cliches and cgi. but, that's what Cameron's audience loves, so at least the movie should do well in theaters.I still don't understand the point of this movie... from the commercials it looks like a bunch of humans go to blue-people-land and either turn into or take over the bodies of blue people, and then somehow they enjoy being blue.
Wonder who Ripley... I mean... Sigourney Weaver is gonna play? Saw her in the commercials with a light brown curly white-people mini afro...

I bet you people will remember this film as "....you seen that film with the blue aliens ?" Shut the ???? up. There called Navi's !!! Just like people calling Dr. Manhattan "The naked blue guy with the ????? hanging out"...what do you expect him to have there ? Anyways...getting tierd of people also calling this another CGI film...ffs...how silly wud people dressed in blue body paint look like ? I mean it wud be so obvious that they were actors in blue body paint. Just wait until the film comes out....then ppl around here will shut the ???? up !!!

i've seen just about every Cameron movie. that certainly isn't improving my outlook. my dvd collection is mostly german expressionist, japanese jedigeki dramas, classic animation and french art house movies. i doubt that's gonna change how generic and hackneyed the plot is. the visuals look as garish and excessive as every Michael Bay cgi blockbuster made in the last several years. so, just what am i missing here?
like i said earlier, i've seen Cameron's movies. i'm pretty sure i know exactly what i'm in for.

i'd never say this movie will be as bad as Battlefield Earth. i'm just calling a spade a spade here. it's more of Cameron's juvenile generic popcorn scifi. and his audience will eat it up no matter what anyone says. but, you're free to educate me on the finer details and narrative of all the explosions and one-liners in Avatar after you see it.

Dude, in all honesty and not saying the movie's gonna be bad or good, you think NECA's better than Sideshow. Why would anyone take you seriously?
As far as the movie goes, looks like all the critics are basically saying, "Great effects! The CGI is FANTASTIC!!! Story's kinda blah though."
