i'm not snobby enough to think that since cameron does action films that somehow his films are not worthy. nobody faults hitchcock for always making thrillers with no depth, or tarantino for always making pulp fictions, or miyazaki for always doing children fairytales, or wong kar wai for making the same story over and over and over. different artists express themselves differently. no one artist is alike, cameron just choose sci-fi/action as his genre of choice. but if you know what to see in his films, you'll recognize that his filmmaking craft is of the highest caliber. there's a machine-like precision to how he designs his films. comparing him to michael bay just makes you look like an ignorant imbecile to be honest.

definitely agree with that. cameron knows his craft and understands context. michael bay has a sense of style but has little to no grasp of the fact that in action scenes, "geography" is as important as choreography. as in, positioning your characters lucidly within the frame in relation to what's happening at that moment, then allowing the audience to follow their actions and the subsequent consequences. that's context.

as for "film elitists", i never understood how any person can claim to love cinema yet cannot embrace the most visually dynamic of its genres: action and sci-fi. and cameron is one of the THE best at action/sci-fi cinema. to me, there's enough place in the universe for ALL forms of cinema. a well-made film is a well-made film regardless of genre.

Based on what I've seen in the trailer, I could see them making:

- Na'vi Jake
- Wheelchair Jake
- Neytiri
- Quaritch
- Trudy Chacon (Michelle Rodriguez)

i wonder what body type they'll use for the navi.

I'm guessing an all new design specific to their physiology. About the size of the Pred-Alien but with a lithe flexible painted silicone body... at least thats what I imagine.

You know,I feel sorry for Hot Toys in as much as many of the stars of the licences they ve taken on are these unfeasibly massive,incredibly complex pieces of machinery.Puts them in an awkward position.On the one hand,yeah,everybodies wanting stuff like this,the Ironmonger,etc.On the other are they ever going to recoup the costs,heard they took a hit on the Tumbler.

If Hot Toys produced this,and I REALLY would nt put it past them,they ll set a precedent thats going to be very difficult to match.

AMP suit is great, but the core of movie concentrates on the Navi. Hope hot toys can do justice to cameron's design and not screw up on potentially amazing collectible
