I definitely get why a lot of people want the most visually appealing version of Thanos. I just can’t resist the version of Thanos when we first got to really know Thanos. I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned the snap. Huge aspect for me. I’d love to have a custom version done of Thanos with Storm Breaker imbedded in his chest whilst snapping :rock

I've mentioned the snap a couple of times lol. The most iconic thing that was brought over from the comics. The Snap that dusted half of life in the Universe. Plus, not to mention IW Thanos, the only Thanos that used all 6 Infinity Stones to their abilities. Oh and he also threw a damn moon, made a black hole and made the Gauntlet into a damn flame thrower.

Thanos is the first villain I rooted for to win. Got both on order. Simple as that. Never empathized with a “bad guy” as much as I did with Thanos.

I completely get where you’re coming from here, being that the entire IW film as a whole was about building Thanos up as a character and knowing his background, and what his intentions were because of that background. And when it comes to certain Thanos moments per se, the snap like you said is high up there as far as being iconic. However, I bolded the part I did because that moment to me came in the first scene in IW, where we saw Thanos standing with his back turned, then began speaking and turned around with Thor completely helpless in his right hand, and made it abundantly clear that he wasn’t ****ing around (“Dread it, run from it, but destiny arrives. And now it’s here. Or should I say...I am.”) Then subsequently, proceeded to kick the crap out of Hulk. First 5 minutes of the film, and the strongest two members of the mighty Avengers got their asses handed to them.

To me, that was the moment where you knew Thanos was the guy, and undoubtedly was going to be the climax of this whole journey. The ultimate villain. That moment, in addition to liking the armored look more in general like you said, plays a large part for me in why I chose the armored version. Like I’ve said, I actually chose the armored version with IW more in mind than EG, based on the scene I just referenced.

You certainly make a solid case for Armored Thanos as your IW version. A really incredibly intro considering what those two heroes had faced up to that point. The versatility of this figure can’t be denied— especially if they stick with including the OG gauntlet and just add the Nano version instead of updating it ala the Mark L’s Nano Wings.

Thanks man. You make a good case as well for IW Thanos. Like you said, the snap is pretty iconic because that’s the scene when he won,
and having him represented as doing just that, you can’t go wrong with.

And yes, you’re right that considering what Thor and Hulk went through as characters up to that point, made Thanos in the scene that I referenced all the more bad ass. Especially since it happened immediately following the events of Ragnarok, where we learned that Thor is even more powerful than he had been in previous installments. And then just like that, we’re introduced to him in IW as looking like a helpless rag doll in Thanos’s hand. And then Banner falling down to the Sanctum Sanatorium and repeating “Thanos is coming” in a panic, scared ****less because he knew Thanos just kicked the crap out of him as the Hulk, and without using the Stones. And left Thor’s ship with two Stones in his possession.

I personally think with this figure, they’ll just keep the Infinity Gauntlet (I hope), and include the Nano Gauntlet with the inevitable BD Armored Thanos or include it with Professor Hulk. Or both.

For any big fans of the movies both looks for Thanos are essential.

I surprised myself by liking the unarmored version despite knowing the comic book roots.

The thing for me is that the IW figure does a very good job of representing the character as he appeared on screen for much of the movie. Where as the EG version simply does not & seems to represent something more for the comic friendly collector even though Thanos early comic appearances is not armor & this being the Movie Masterpiece Series .

Wrong Gauntlet & the wrong arm; plus after he acquired the Nano Gauntlet in the film his armor is pretty busted up by Scarlet Witch at that point

I get the appeal of this EG Thanos, I really do & would like to stress this is just my opinion; but when he costs like $500 I'm going to get a little picky. I'm not seeing much of a depiction beyond the early point in the fight with the big three. I also personally feel there was better kit to include with this figure to capture his character from End Game. I guess it boils down to; I don't think this is the End Game Thanos I want, which is a shame as I thought he was real badass in this movie too.

Wow you make some excellent points in this post and really solidify your previous arguments regarding the versatility and representative nature of this figure. And yeah he isn’t wearing the armor very long in IW but he is wearing it when you first experience him in the film and his scene wearing the armor is poignant and clearly establishes Thanos a tremendous threat to the Universe (based on what he did to Thor and the Hulk) and an overall badass.

I also love that I will have the option to pose him with or without the helmet, sword, or gauntlet (hopefully).

That's why i am getting both. Soooooo many display option and very different looks with two and i really wanted to be able to have the arm bent with the gauntlet without worry. I just got the IW in today and posed him up with the MK 50 and Dr Strange . I will put ED Cap and the MK85 with this armored one.

I'm curious if we will ever see on screen how thanos lost his sword prior to infinity war, or how he decimated xandar and acquired the power stone.

Congratulations subzro! I hope you are enjoying him and post a few pics of him and your display!

And yeah they are both stunning looking versions and I can see how having both of them could enhance any collection.

Yeah I would love to see a prequel about Thanos, I think that would be awesome!!!
It is possible that the release of the film about The Eternals could open up the door for some pre IW/EG Thanos story line. Not sure how far (if at all) they would take a Thanos element in the Eternals bk I’m sure they will want to introduce those characters to a new audience AND Thanos is such a compelling character he may “steal” the movie.

Loved that nod to the comics with Hulk taking Surfer’s line.

That would have been cool. Though I do also like the way they set it up where the end credit scene (or mid, I forget) in Ragnarok was essentially right where IW began, when it showed Thanos’s ship hovering above Thor’s.

I was broke before I ordered Thanos and Cap now i’m just extra broke lol but it’s totally worth it!

Hands down armored Thanos and defiant Cap will be the 2 most epic pairing of movie collectibles that will be released in 2020.

Time to whip out the tuna cans lol

Nice, dont forget the ramen. Good thing I love ramen noodles.

I think the decimation of Xandar would be a good intro for a potential Nova Richard Rider movie.
