Suit looks great, but that new sculpt is really not good.

It's also important to remember that Disney has final say in the sculpt. So this new sculpt was most likely something dictated by Disney and not a Hot Toys decision. (Similar to the ANH Han sculpt.)

This sculpt has me concerned for all of the upcoming Tony Stark sculpts and every other sculpt that could be released. I have preorders through 2022 and this isn't encouraging me to continue with Hot Toys.

This looks like a cross between Tony Stark and Dr. Strange. :slap

I?m telling you guys, it?s Judge Reinhold!

Seriously though, I usually don?t think the HS dislikes are as warranted but this is definitely a step down from the prototype. I?ll be displaying him with the helmet so it?s not a big deal. However I?m very concerned about the BD version and team suit. I will display those without helmets and would be crushed if this is what we get. I?ll cancel the team suit for this but we?ll see on the BD versio.

For all those people complaining that Hot Toys re-use good headsculpts...........what do you say to this ?

God is that bad !

Reading the comments on FB at least makes me feel slightly better...EVERYONE hates it! :lol

The question now is do I keep or cancel my preorder...?

Yeah they are copping a hiding, also on Instagram both HT and JC Hong !!!

I just hope they get the message and don't use that same sculpt for the Battle Damaged version.

Sculpt is decent. People are freaking out, again, over nothing. Like they did not get it anyway.

JC Hong posted this to his Instagram. It doesn't look AS bad as the product photos, but I think he looks too thin in the face.

Yet again, HT?s proves that IM figures should always be posed with the helmet. I might be wrong with this stat, but I do think that out of all the headsculpts that HT?s has released, RDJ is BY FAR the most. After seeing the 1/4 Mk. 43 in hand (and subsequently the shrunken Mk. 46), I was convinced that they had his likeness dialed in and that they?d never make a mistake like they have with the Mk. XXXLV. There are 3rd party unlicensed headsculpts that blow this POS away and I?m not talking about $300+ prices, I mean readily available ones from OSK and the like.

Now let?s see if they just add some charring, blood and scratches (no reason to think they won?t) to the BD Mk. XXXLV. :lol :wink1:

EDIT: Honestly, HT’s biggest *****k you to collectors was the omission of lights in the Lightning Refocuser. If they had omitted LED’s on the rear RT and other lines in back, I’d have had little to no problem as (aside from the Mk. II AU) no IM figures have had lights on the boot jets. But just 6 BLOODY LED’s on the front of the piece and I would have completely ignored the headscrap. I do get it as a good buddy of mine reminded me that it was used for 1 specific science that did more damage to the MCU Trinity than to Thanos but In my opinion it’s still inexcusable. Perhaps the R&D team was stuck with how to power the LF off the batteries that power the chest RT (which a + & - pin out doesn’t seem too difficult) but if that was the wall preventing LED inclusion in the LF then why not just have its own dedicated power source? Seems to me, without having the figure in hand yet, the rear RT on the LF could easily be removed with the underneath housing a couple of AG10’s or whatever would fit.

At this point I’ve gone back and forth on buying the Iron Studios 1/4 Deluxe which, doesn’t necessarily have the best RDJ likeness but everything lights up. Unfortunately, I have yet to see this in person and while I received the EG Cap fro IS, it looked great but the felt light as a feather. I know it’s a stupid metric to judge Collectibles but statues should have a certain weight.

Figure looks very impressive but ... and I hate to be that guy ... does that helmeted head look too small? That was a long-standing problem I feel was only addressed starting with the Mark 6 diecast, and now it appears like it may be back...
