Well, it took me like three hours to get the quills on. Totally worth it!

Pretty Stellar job on the quills Blade. The hard work paid off. he looks great!

I must agree that the HT AVP figures are one of my favorite lines, besides the P2 line. A lot of people don't realize that if these did not have a good turnout, we would of never had any other lines of HT Predator products. Yes the dreads are wired, and it is a real task putting them together, but over all they are real cool figures. I have been trying myself to start getting these figures, but no luck, and ebay prices are outragious.

Got the Celtic back a day or two ago, one of the dreads had been pulled out, and his armour was completely disassembled in the back:lol NO big deal, I took off the head to get everything back on and I was finally able to futz with the dreads alittle bit. I've got an Elder on the way as well. So no all I need is Chopper.

Nice job Blade, my Elder is currently pretty much quilless.

Get those puppies on! I actually still have a few quills leftover. Maybe around 20 or so of the long ones (some are still on the plastic tray, some are loose in a baggy). You don't need all 80 on his face for a decent look. Anywhere between 30 and 40 is perfect.

@Predator vs. Alien: I keep forgetting you have a Scar now :D. Take more pics of that sucker! This thread needs more photo love in the last pages!

I got it off ebay, came with no Quills, and other pieces....

i love all the avp preds , i just dont think i ll ever own them due to price. if my wife finds out that i have the 400 or so saved up to buy say scar, she ll find some way to spend it.

I'll get some pics later today(it's sprinkling over here right now) I'll also snap a few of my Eli custom as well. He turned out quite badass!!

Sell me some of your leftover quills. My custom Scar head can use a few more. I don't need much. 10 at the most.

Have someone repaint it into a scar head. Looks way better.

i always hear people complaining about the quills .just curious , are they that big of a pain in the ass?

I find anything that takes over 30 minutes a pain in the @$$. But a lot of people also find it satisfying. It's like assembling preds back then. It made the owner feel like they were part of creating this awesome piece.

The drilling is the head-scratcher moment. You'll be wondering how on Earth to make the holes. But the process for those shouldn't take more than 30-60 minutes, depending on your method. The gluing is the main pain in the ass. It can take 2 to 3 hours (once again, depending on your holes and the amount of them). Unless every hole is perfect, you may spend a good three minutes getting a quill in the right angle and making sure it doesn't twist down into the wrong angle. Plus, they can always jump off your tweezers at times. It's all worth it in the end, though :).

I'm incredibly glad it's all behind me and the other AVP Preds I need don't require this, but I gotta say. After spending so much time doing more hobby-style work than these figures usually call for, the Elder is just more meaningful.

^its a nice feeling of accomplishment to assemble a HT predator without breaking it.

anyway, as of today, i have Seb's custom predator enlisted in my clan.:yess:

just want to share Seb's custom predator, now enlisted in my clan. :]

So that's where the Zombie Pred went to. Finally to a worthy collector and a good home. I helped named that Pred. Take good care of my godson. :lol
