They can set the price. Btw, I had a Custom 1/6 Batmobile made for me and it cost about 600. That's one of one. Of course, I sold it knowing HT would make this. Then they screwed us. I'm sure their costs (having made one) wouldn't be nearly as high.

Hey Pjam,

Have any more photos of your custom 1/6 Batmobile?

If HT has any integrity, they would offer a PO for a limited run and cover their costs with a 50% deposit, or even a pre-paid option, that way they wouldn't lose any money and every one who really wanted it would get one.

You have too much faith in humanity. People will make the deposit and still do everything to cancel. If they can't cancel they will be crying all over the Internet.

They never said no interest. Obviously there is interest. Think they meant insufficient interest from enough customers to make it profitable.

Now if the new 1966 Batman animated movie is a big hit especially in Asian markets, that can't hurt. Combine that with good sales on HT Romero Joker and Yvonne Craig Batgirl, maybe they will add more to the line.

That still makes no sense to me? Is the Delorean that much cheaper to produce? They made the Delorean......nobody is going to convince me that the Delorean is more fan demanded.....that is just laughable. There has to be more to it than 'Fan Interest'. I would argue that the 66 Batmobile has more Fan interest than any other vehicle on the planet. Surely many times that of the Delorean. Color me baffled.

I color you correct. There is no way the delorean is more popular than the 66. Hot Toys will most likely make the flying delorean, which they should have done was make both in one. Make wheels go up and down, and make Mr fusion removable if you want to display either one. Sad we will get 2 deloreans, but can't get the freaking 66 batmobile. Hell, probably won't even see the batman vs Superman batmobile either as a consolation prize. Hot Toys bs and arrogance in keeping this up in air really sucks.

Absolutely correct!

"....sooooo, you're saying there's a chance?"

Nevertheless I shall see what I can do.

Back to the Future is pretty damn popular. Those films continue to find audiences amongst newer generations due to their not being quite as 'of their time' as 60s Batman is. The fact that Back to the Future has never been remade contributes to this whereas newer incarnations of Batman have made the 60s version increasingly niche as time goes on.

So yeah, I'd say the Delorean has larger demand today.

I should stress though that I hope you all get your 60s Batmobile. Damn right it deserves to be made.

How have the sales been doing on the BTTF Marty figure? Don't recall them having many discounts for it.

Just curious to know from anyone who collects that line? How is the Delorean selling?

They are making the BTTF 2 Marty, Doc Brown and maybe the Delorean so it must be doing ok.

Still don't buy that the 66 is so expensive to produce. Gloss paint and pinstripes is not going to add a ton to production cost. No way. Black paint is cheap. Someone capable of spraying paint could paint one in no time. I understand the issue with over spray ect. If they used a single stage paint, it's not that difficult if experienced and don't rush. Pinstripes is a talent and definitely more difficult.

This whole 66' Batmobile fiasco has left me a little bitter. I have a thing for collecting 1/6 scale vehicles, dioramas, and props to be able display with the figures I get. 89' Batmobile with my Batman Returns figure for one. I only picked up Marty when the Delorean came up. Looking forward to the Rey speeder and I'll get the Falcon cockpit for sure. Ecto-1 is on my list to get, but because of the bait switch (that I felt HT pulled on me/us) of the 66' Batmobile I won't PO the Ghostbuster figures. They look amazing but I only want to get them if I can display them with the Ecto-1 car which hasn't been shown or PO yet but announced. Which kind of sucks for Blitzway for the way HT does business.

I was just going through Apple TV's movie Pre-Orders and the '66 Animated Movie is listed.

This is the splash art for the movie on Apple TV.

Is this a hint that something is coming!?!??

Very doubtful, but I immediately thought of this thread when I saw it!

Hopefully this sells well and hot toys gets their heads out of their a$$'s and release the damn batmobile! You will never tell me this takes second place to the delorean.

For me personally, the thought of having a 1/6 1966 Batmobile would be awesome, but honestly, It doesn't bother me that much whether it gets made or not. For those of you who are really passionate about having this made, ask yourself how bad you want it, and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Sitting on the sidelines and just complaining about it does accomplish much. How has it been working for you so far? I love the USA and I served 20 yrs because of reasons like 9/11, and many others joined the military because of it (I know this is no comparison, and we're talking about toys) but the general idea is the same. If people like Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King, Ghandi, and many others who fought and or stood up for something just sat on the sidelines and whined, where would we be? Sorry, it's just the military in me coming out. Start a petition or figure out a way to let HTs know just how many people are interested, address your concerns or something. OR, just let it go!

Just trying to make a point not make enemies.

I served also brother. I tried to see about getting a petition going and couldn't get anyone on board. Plus Howard will do whatever he wants regardless of what us collectors want here in the states. I go on their Facebook page and keep asking wheres the 66 batmobile? Outside of flying to Japan and pounding and demanding on Howard's desk to release it, what else can you do? Hot Toys arrogance. They say the 66 demand is not their and production and shipping issues, but they release a life size Batman and armored bats. Wtf!!

Well that's good brother. I appreciate you trying and not just whining! Thanks for your service!

If it's any consolation, I've read somewhere that one of the big reasons Howard created the company was to try and make the 1966 batman / Batmobile and the iconic characters on the show (perhaps it was one of his childhood dreams). But the few folks I know who wound up in the toy industry got the licenses they were after and made the toy they wanted when they were kids.
I'm hopeful the batmobile will eventually be released
