I'm only reporting what Ed has publicly written and not what's he's asked me to keep under my hat.

BatToys, We have our own resident "insider" that claims the same thing (and almost says it exactly as you did above) but provides no back-up or links what-so-ever. Please do not take it personally. A lot of members are just tired of it and are frustrated when we see the same thing posted by another.

Anyway, back to the 66, that stinks it being cancelled.

I'm still amazed at people calling some joker reading things on Facebook an "insider" - regardless of who they are otherwise.

The Batmobile was the only item I was ever even remotely interested in from the 66 line, and that has to do with nostalgia for the toy releases of the 70's rather than its appearance in the show (which I don't hold in high regard).

You already have a link that everyone knows. Facebook.com. Type Batman Collectors and join. It's easy.

So far, this has not been substantiated by any of the guys on here that are on Facebook. I'm not on facebook and don't plan on joining anytime soon, so I can't join the group.

How bout you just provide some screen caps of the post?

I could only find one page called batman collectors and it's not in english or i would have tried.

You are all wasting your time and energy on this. I call BS on all "inside info" these boards offer on a daily basis.

It's gotten out of control and it will only get worse with all these copycats coming out of nowhere claiming they know what Howard Chan prefers for cereal.

Fran, has there every been a member here that was actually legit about their "inside info" (if you know/knew of one)? Thanks.

I know of one member who has offered great info and teasers that have proven out multiple times. Unfortunately he doesn't reveal too much anymore... Probably due to the churn of subsequent negative posts in response.

I was about to mention him. (If it's the same person I'm thinking of, he was correct 'all day long' :wink1: )

I don't really recall the cause for the negativity though.

And there's always the Darklord, of course, for obvious reasons.

That's why I was asking if there were "legit" ones, not ones who post for the sake of hearing the sound of their keyboard.

(and of course, Dave is), but any others? Anyway.....

Yeah Sikatar. No need to take his posts with a grain of salt, the guy ACTUALLY works in the industry, therefore his posts are rare, and (of course) not very revealing sometimes as he ACTUALLY is sometimes not allowed to speak on certain things, much like one would expect.

As far as movies (specially DC Ones, I know of Difabio. He's been right on almost everything I've asked. He's also legit as ****. Lol.

Thanks Fran :duff. Definitely good to know.

Thanks guys. I have seen posts by him in the past. Nice to know he is legit.

Thanks for asking that question :duff I was curious too. So hard to tell when so many here claim to be insiders etc without proof.

It's a waste of time reading. I have noticed that one giveaway tends to be the amount they post - walls of text. I guess like franpincho implied - real insiders would either be silent or not reveal much.

DiFabio? I didn't know he was connected, and he's one of our own as well.

He is! Film wise, I know that for sure. He's spoiled some stuff down to a t. I think he does some extra work at sets and more, but I'm not entirely sure. As far as the Dollie world, I think he knows just as much as us though. NOTHING! Lol.

I've seen threads go down hill because of this BS. Yes, I have been a part on those threads and their demise, but it always starts with the wall of texts, that mean absolutely nothing when you never, ever back up your claims and credit others for their pictures. I wish it would stop.

Thanks for the info, fran. Much appreciated. :duff I guess the forum could do with a trusted "whitelist" of members :lol

What I really hate is when someone says "I can't tell you how I know". That just instantly screams I-don't-really-know to me.

So was the ultimate problem with this Batmobile the paintjob and cost? A of course transporting it without blemishes...?

Also rumored was some kind of licensing issue with rolling wheels.

So far, we've been told that Ed posted in a private Facebook group that the good folks at HTs Japan are saying the car is a pipe dream. The question remains if the license is a dog, why keep showing it and why tease other characters from it. It's a dog, let it die so the next company (Star Ace, Asmus, QMx, Blitzway) can pick it up and do it some justice.

As I've stated before, I've personally given up on this one. I think Hot Toys, for awhile now, is too preoccupied with keeping up with Disney to devote much time to labor of love projects such as this one. That leaves precious little time to think outside the box a little and do Kickstarter style pre-orders for something that will likely be low in demand (relative to Marvel and Star Wars and to a lesser degree, DC) and top $1000 bucks without shipping.

Doesn't the car also have a licensing issue with having to pay both DC/Warner and Barriss for licensing?

I have to be honest, I thought I would've gotten more interest for the custom Bat-shield project my brother and I did back when the figures came out but there wasn't even enough interest to do a second run. Anecdotal I know but :huh

Your BatShield was a beautiful piece. I was on the fence about it for so long because I was saving up for the Batmobile.

Hindsight is a cruel mistress.

Well, I think those "licensing issues" are BS. How do other companies make 66 Batmobiles then? yeah, they are not as great looking as the 1/6 version being discussed here, but isn't licensing the same regardless of scale? Jack Nicholson will charge a gazillion dollars regardless of a figure based on him is 1/6 or 1/4, right? So what gives? Production problems like the 89 Batmobile? What production problems? That was a SHIPPING problem. Those guys didn't package that thing all that well, therefore scuffs and paint defects and blah blah blah.

HT is just stupid sometimes. all that time and effort producing 1/6 Star Wars vehicles that will never see the light of day. For what? To hype SW? Does SW even need hype? Those figures will sell NO MATTER WHAT. You can recreate the Death Star in 1/4 if you want, Han Solo will still sell out without it.

They even shown Bob The freaking Goon from 1989 Batman at a recent event. Turned out to be a figure that was only a display for the show. WHY? Because HT.

Is this arrogance an Asian thing? is it? Sometimes it makes me wonder.

But hey, keep making those 1/1 BvS figures that are selling like hotcakes all over the world.
