Errrr... Silverhawks! i mean seriously? (Oops NAM beat me to it.)

And besides, that Shadow-Wing Batman from the Dark Knight Collection was made by Kenner, so it was the same basic function and that copycat reuse that Kenner was so good at.

M.

There wasn't a toy company that didn't do that in the 80's. :huh

It's not like it was repaint of the same body. The figure was all new,

Doesn't matter though, because they made these, which were all brand spanking new at the time.

Silverhawks...haha, I remember them. What was the one where the figure had pop off arms and legs or whatever? I had a large Joe and Transformers collection and was basically into that, but I did buy special figures like some of the Kenner Batman ones among others.

I always thought this one was cool. Never had it when i was younger but managed to score it last year.

Ahhh Shadow Wing Batman. That was my first Batman figure ever, my grandfather took me to Toys'r'us just before Christmas 1990 and told me to pick any figure. I saw a bunch of the variants from the Dark Knight collection on the pegs, but I was only interested in this "all black" one, because it looked the most like the movie version to me.

Later on I took it to school and some dumbass kid tried to make him "fly" ...and on his landing, popped one of his legs off:mad:...from then on the opening arm mechanism was stuck in the open position, and he didn't last long after that :monkey2.

Years later, a new one was one of my first ebay purchases. :yess: Speaking of toy companies reusing old sculpts...almost every other Batman figure in the Dark Knight Collection (and Batman Returns) just made slight mods to the basic Super Powers body sculpt. I think that's part of the reason this is my all time favorite Batman figure on this scale. The detail of the suit and the mask with the Michael Keaton likeness face sculpt (which they all had) amazed me even back then.

Oh man I had forgotten about the Returns Skiboat! What a machine!! I LOVED that toy... faaaaackkk..

We should create a thread for classic Kenner toys.

Yeah, i know... i wasn't referring to it being a repaint, just using the same tech... the main bodies in that line however are repaints of the Super Powers body with Keaton heads, newly sculpted belts and boot armor.

They also reused the batcopter from the SP line and used it for the Dark Knight Collection. Even the Joker had the same body as the SP one with a new head.

Just saying that Kenner had a rep of reusing molds to save money.

Will this one likely have a Keaton BRUCE WAYNE head, even though there was no Keaton reveal except for the quick alleyway fight?

I think at this point it looks very unlikely to include the Keaton reveal sculpt.

I can live with that as it's more proper with Batman Returns...although it needs to be semi-tear away in appearance in BR if they make that one. So as long as the chin/mouth looks Keaton-ish that would be good. I wonder if this or Nicholson Joker gets released first.
